Changes & Progress... Perhaps.

Howdy Gals! I hope you all are having a wonderful holiday season & your toes and/or fingers have not turned blue. Last night as I was doing my pre-slumber face wash, I discovered a new mole on my chin. The mole had an inhabitant. One super friendly strand of hair!!! What the holy blue blazin' moly mackerel?!?!? The hair was just a'wavin' at me in the mirror. And all I could think about was: Has this been sticking out of my face all freakin' day? How many folks saw it and were frightened when speaking with me? Ugh. Bleh. Gross. Those were my first thoughts. And then... bada bing bada boom! I became okay with the mole. Plucked out the hair. Finished washing my face and went to sleep. I just cannot fathom spending good energy [read: time I could be sleeping] panicking about facial flaws. Or the rest of my outer flaws. Would I love smoother, silkier skin? Sure. But I gotta be okay with the skin I'm in. Plus, it could be worse. If I ever become a burn victim, I'd pay big Monopoly money for the skin I currently have. Finito. My eating habits are getting a wee bit better. I see some curves to my mid-section & I'm still exercising regularly. The jogging has been put on hold as it's freakin' cold. At least by Georgia standards. And my toes and fingers go numb so dang quickly it's a shame. A shame that one Foghorn Leghorn could attest to.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0D6DZuTPsA

I just finished watching Michael Moore's "Bowling For Columbine" about gun control/violence/whatever in America. It made me want to run away, as do all of his films. I wish we American's weren't so dang scary or so dang violent. Sheesh! Inhaling and exhaling peace. :-) So, I went to small town Mississippi again last weekend. The roundness of all the folks was so so so disheartening. And because I walked about a mile and a half (round trip) to get oatmeal and coffee a couple times scared the crap outta my big friend and his family. "Why you walkin? That's too far! You could get kidnapped out here! Nobody walks `roun' here!" Uhm... Yea! No freakin' kidding! Everyone there needs a walk or three, but instead they all just came to their doors to stare & wave at me walking by. It's so rare for them to see walking people that I was asked FOUR times by FOUR different people if I needed a ride. They figured I was stranded and walking because why else would I be walking alone on those roads. Please take note that there's maybe 5k people in/around this town. Seriously, what could happen to me walking to and from McDonald's on the main drag?!?! Great thing is that I got the senior discount because, "I can just tell that you're not from here. You just don't have the look of people from here." Yep, that's what the McD's cashier guy told me. Oh, my sweet sweet small town Miss'uh'sip! Such a special place. I did get to see a friend from Clovis while there. Her parents now live sorta near where I was staying. I also swung through Tupelo, MS and saw the house in which Elvis was born. What an eventful ... okay, not so eventful... trip.

Delights, I hope you all are doing fabulously & usher in 2013 just the way ya want. TAPS, glad you're back to work on your own terms and hours. Be great! Cheers!

Mental Stability

Hi Delights! What a rough couple of weeks this has been for a lot of folks in this country. I know we all feel "something" for the community in Newtown, CT where the shootings took place. And the week before in Portland. Then, a day after the awful events in Connecticut, some guy shot three people at a hospital in Arkansas & some other fella shot 50 rounds in to the air at a mall in California. I find myself wondering about the mental health of the shooters. What sort of traumas had the 20-year-old kid in CT endured that gave him the capability to completely disconnect from life?!? He had no regard for human life at all. How does that happen? The bootleg sociologist and aspiring counselor in me has plenty of theories and they all are pretty sad. I always hate when a person can find no peace in their soul and they go off and do the unthinkable. That has got to be a terrible feeling. I don't know if any of you know anyone personally connected to any of these horrible events, but my thoughts are with you anyway. We're all mothers or aunts or occasional baby sitters or god parents to some wonderful kiddos, so I wish you serenity as you try to process and/or explain these terrors.

I'm entering my 3rd week of the counseling program and happy to say it's going well. I'm on top of all my assignments thus far but still struggling with others' writing. I have to remind myself on a regular basis that their writing does not affect my grade. I may need to play some Enya and chant that phrase celtically. :-)

Celebrations:
♥  That the country is coming together to help the folks in CT and still helping Hurricane Sandy victims
♥  Colouring my mini-fro Red Hot Rhythm
♥  A wonderful & much needed vacation to Phoenix
♥  No airport delays
♥  The kiddos in my life have received their xmas gifts from me already

Objectives:
♣  Continue to exercise and eat better
♣  Clean, recycle, & grocery shop
♣  Try e-couponing for the first time
♣  Un-pack, do laundry & prepare for the week
♣  Remain optimistic about folks' mental health & how fragile we are

Enjoy the day! Ms. Awesome:  GO BEARS!

Partly Cloudy!

Howdy Delights! Just want you all to know that my partly cloudy really means I'm partly drunk. Was packing for my upcoming Phoenix trip and decided to have wine during the process. There will be quite a few errors in this blog. Justsoyaknow! Maurice is on his way out, but the Lumberjack lingers. I want cookies sooo bad. Help me Baby Buddha! I want to change the spelling of Maruice's name and add an "x." Thus making him Maurixe. Just ran that idea by my gal pal & she said it doesn't look right. What sayeth thou, Follow Through'ers? Anyhoo, my first week of the counseling program was a cinch, which sorta scares me. I've already finished the assignments for week two. Equally scared. I'm sure week three will bring on some challenges, right?!?! Sure. In other news: I'm still hanging with the Country Fella `cause... Well, I just like him. And I think he's gonna mature a little more by the week. However, there's another guy on the horizon who's caught my attention. Yowzuh! I'll keep you all posted as to how that plays out. I'm still rockin' with the fitness, but maybe need to look at my eating habits again. Or maybe it's just cause the Lumberjack was around & I felt the need to eat an over abundance of chocolate. Let's go with that. I actually feel healthier & am getting in the groove of jogging (although I still don't really like it). I had my hair cut off again & plan to take better care of it this time around as it grows/fro's out. I really want an oatmeal cookie. Damnit!

Celebrations:
= Drunk packing for Phoenix
= Steady fitness regimen
= Easy to maintain hair
= Upcoming vacation
= Great wine
= Going to the Spurs game in Charlotte last night

Objectives:
♣  Make sure to look at what I packed to ensure I have the right stuff
♣  Clean & do laundry before I leave
♣  Get a mobile Hot Spot device
♣  Find a ride to the airport  :-)
♣  Rid myself of the Lumberjack

Have a wonderful week, Delights! Own IT!

Hands In The Air

Hey Beauties! It's happening... I begin my Counseling program on Monday. Yep... Like a week from yesterday! I know it's gonna be quite the educational roller coaster, thus I've got my hands up high! Way up in the air. I think I'll be a great student, although beginning in the winter has some challenges. I'll be staying at work late some nights to work on assignments, `cause I know I won't do them when I get home. And it'll be dark, and I'll be hungry, and I'll wanna stay on top of my fitness routine, and I'll be hungry, and it'll be dark, and I'll want to go to happy hour, and... and... and... I'm ready! :-) I'm thankful for the opportunity to be able to go to school and have a GI Bill to pay the dues. Yesterday, I read an article on Yahoo! that discussed the despair many folks are feeling because of the enormous amount of student loan debt they have. Currently, student loan debt has surpassed $1 trillion dollars!!! More than home buyer's debt. How freakin' ridiculous is that?!?!? VERY! It makes no sense for education to be so unaffordable and out of reach. Especially if that's the way we're taught to get ahead. Anyhoo, I used to complain (surprise surprise) about not seeing my loan debt decrease at a faster rate due to the payments I am making. Today I'm grateful to not owe $40k or $50k or even $20k in loan debt. And I'm beyond grateful that I can at least make payments without going hungry. Anyhoo, I didn't intend to even discuss loan debt and the negativity surrounding it in this blog. My apologies. Just wanted to put out there my future student (again) status and a bunch of random thoughts I've had. Of course, I cannot remember any of them at the moment besides this: What's going on with Dolly Parton's face? Creeps me out. Not CeeLo level of creep out, but close. Elmo Guy now creeps me out on the CeeLo level. The Lumberjack is here in preparation for Maurice. He's brought a very hearty appetite and also left an oh-so-attractive pimple right above my lip. Freakin' evil Lumberjack! He's currently digging through the icebox in search of cookie dough he'll force down my trachea. Evil.Evil.Evil Lumberjack. By the by, I'm still sorta wiggin' out over being a F/G cup in bra size. A second (or third) opinion isn't a bad idea, right?!?!? Thanks. Enjoy the night, Delights! Oh Oh OH OHHH! My Beau's birthday is tomorrow. I think I'll go to happy hour and hum the theme to the Daily Show all night long!

Celebrations:
☺  A 25% productive, 75% relaxing day off
☺  Sinn rolling so much smoother after getting an oil change & her feet rotated
☺  Making my own peppermint mocha...spiked
☺  Finally hand-washing my new big bras
☺  A cozy sofa

Objectives:
☻  Celebrate my beau's birthday in style
☻  Scour or skim the information I'll need to know to begin class on Monday
☻  Find out if I can be reassigned to somewhere west of here next year
☻  Jog two-3 more days this week. YIKES!
☻  Get a 2nd opion/measuring of my kid feeders

Cheers!

No Complaints

Good Morning & Happy Kick Off to the Winter Holiday Season! Yesterday on my super slow trot, I was hit with the realization that I really should have no complaints about anything. I am truly fortunate to be in good health, have great relationships, and the freedom to do just about whatever I want. Yes, my supervisor says some truly stupid shizer more often than I'd like, but that'll work itself out. My nephew's mom has a rare form of cancer and literally dies a bit more everyday. She's in pain more often than not and still manages to listen to me and others whine about trivial crap. I've got friends who have deployed to Iraq and/or Afghanistan and are battling post-traumatic stress on a daily basis. When I thought about these circumstances of others, I found some more motivation to pick up my slow pace & finish that trot smiling and grateful. Again, I will do my very best not to complain about junk that's just not important. I will spend more time saying "Thank you" and just expressing gratitude whenever I can. Thank you gals for offering sound advice on my supervisor's recent ignorant statements & for being phenomenal all the time.
I've managed to do some sort of fitness every day for the past several weeks. I'm cooking more of my own food and eating better all around. I got a bra-fitting recently. Are yall ready for these numbers and letters??!?!? I surely wasn't. I've slimmed down to a 34 in width but my cup size is an F or G!!! WTHolyHades is that about?!?! I couldn't believe I measured at stripper breast sizes. [repeating a chant to myself] Don't Complain! Don't Complain! Don't Complain! At least I'm slimmer up top and able to afford new bras and got a cute bra & panty set and my breasts are real and .... I'm not complaining! I've also  reading a "real" book in the evenings before I go to sleep. I'm such a connectivity junkie, I've gotten away from the leisure's I used to love. Wish me luck as I plan to delve in to Team of Rivals (the book about Abe Lincoln & Co.) & all of it's 944 pages ... beginning on 1 December. The goal is to have it finished before 2013 expires. Yes...Twenty-Thirteen. NOT 2012! Thanks for your future support. Before then, I'll be seeking yall's advice about what to do with Gold Tooth Guy. Yep, he's still around.

Celebrations:
♣  Daily fitness
♣  Steaming some super tasty broccoli yesterday
♣  Learning more about this wicked iPhone each day
♣  The many wonderful support system's I have
♣  34 F/G   :-)

Objectives:
♠  Clean my apartment
♠  Catch up with Lisa (my nephew's mother)
♠  Choose a dental & vision plan
♠  Grab some gift cards for my Buddah/God/Allah Kiddos
♠  Say "Thanks!" & remain grateful

Own the Day, Delights! Cheers!

Do You See What I See?

Howdy Hey Hotties! So, I'm back from a pretty great time in Albuquerque. I really cannot thank Ms. Awesome Jenna Dophkah Wasmuth enough for being a supreme being and all around great hang out buddy. For those of you who do not know my mother, she is somethin' else and then two somethin' else's on top of that! And Ms. Awesome handled her with such phenomenal grace. Thanks Ms. Awesome. :-)  Let's see... My life is still unchaotically chaotic somehow. I don't know when and where I will go to school. I do not know where I want to live next. I have no idea as to why I love cookies so much. Yum! Anyhoo, the goal of the weekend is to figure out this school thing. Maybe I should research jobs in at least 3 cities I'm considering. Feel free to chime in & give me my 3 cities, please. Thanks. I've taken up jogging again will continue to do so until I finish at least three 5k's next year. Wish me and my hamstring's much luck. Now if I can just get a good ab routine down. Okay, so I have a great routine, I just don't do it routinely. Ugh! Somebody challenge me. Today I visited the Redcliffe Plantation in Beech Island, SC & learned that I really do not know a lot about America's history. Yikes! Anyhoo, today's tour was about the emancipation of slaves and was very informative. Here's the link to the place:
http://south-carolina-plantations.com/aiken/redcliffe.html

Gals, where are you all with your Thanksgiving Day goals? And how the heck is everyone?

Celebrations:
••  Jogging 1.65 miles in about 15 minutes. Not bad for someone who doesn't particularly like running.
••  The plantation information

••  Homemade cookies

Objectives for the next... who knows?!?!?
◘  Find a program, school and apply

◘  Donate clothes

Cheers!

Moonsense Nonsense

Hey Gals! I'm going to blame the crazy moon schedule for bring all the boys to the yard for my milkshake. Everyone has come outta the the woods, brush, treeline, sky. Just from all over the place professing we "need to make something happen." Huh? What? Scoot away sissy fellas and let me figure out what I'm trying to do with my life. I think I'm involved in at least 3 one-sided relationships. Save me Baby Buddha!
Outside of the fellas showing interest, all else is pretty smooth. I was supposed to land in ABQ today, but found out my trip was cancelled on accident. Hold your drawls, Ms. Awesome. I should be there later this week & cannot wait for us to have java or something. Walking is going pretty well. Still eating like a hog on occasion. Ehh... Not sure what gives. Jon Stewart is dreamy. Tyler Perry in "Alex Cross"... not so much. I'm just not a Tyler fan. Not that he did a horrible job, but it was just not his sorta thing. Of course, I cannot think of another actor to play that role at the moment, so... uh... "Seven Psychopaths" was entertaining as all get out & I just might see "Argo" this week. I've started to do 10 push ups when I roll outta bed. It's a good kinda sore, right?!?! Not masochistic at all. I'm sure I've mentioned this before, but I love Jeopardy. And I've become quite fond of The Big Bang Theory. Genius stuff. My addiction to various Zynga games make me nearly late to work every day. Again, I'm rubbing the belly of Baby Buddha & chanting Celtic somethingorothers for help. Not sure if I told you all that I lost my iPod last week so I ordered another. What do ya think I found today while vacuuming SinnABurst?!?!? Judasfreakinpriest! There ya go. That wraps up my random blog of happiness.

Celebrations:
♠  Fitting comfortably in to size 8 jeans
♠  My Super Support System
♠  A clean habitat
♠  Being okay with my sorta safe addictions  :)
♠  Seeing some curves and a flatter mid-section

Objectives:
♣  Make it to ABQ this week
♣  Stop rushing to work due to gaming
♣  Be open to the learning I'll get while working in ABQ
♣  Make my sister's and my mom's life easier for a week
♣  Keep rockin'!

Have a Wonderful Week Delights!

New Color = Same Color

Howdy Delights! I henna dyed/colored my hair this evening. My beautiful fro'y tresses were to be auburn colored. Big ol' no go! My hair is the same color sans some of the smokey silver wiry unruly coils I had. Oh well. Next time, I'll have to get the box that says "Red!" There's not much new going on over here in JoyJuh. Gold Tooth Country Fella is still hanging in there. I had to let another potential meal-buyer go as he was just so inconsistent with our hang out time. However, there's another southern gentleman peaking over the hill. He  seems to be a nice guy and relatively funny. I'll keep you all posted. I'm still walkin' and eatin'. What a mess I can be sometimes. I'll try to slow my roll and rolls this upcoming week. I found a list w/ the Top Ten online colleges for medical billing and coding. Haven't applied to any yet & I also haven't withdrawn my application for the counseling program. Again... A mess I am. :-) Still looking forward to my time in the Duke City. Magic and Ms. Awesome, we must get together at least once! TAPS, how was your race? Maybe you've addressed that question and I missed the answer. Sorry. Hope all of you are enjoying the newness of fall & lovin' yourselves in some cozy gear. Hooray for boots and sweaters!

Celebrations:
♣  Attending both the Hispanic Festival & Oktoberfest today
♣  Funnel cake
♣  Banana & apple in my oatmeal. DEELISH!
♣  Removing a few grey hairs
♣  Having a great work week & helping a ton of Soldiers make good educational decisions
♣  Soaking in the tub

Objectives:
♠  Figure out how to get Linux & Ubuntu back on my laptop
♠  Contemplate just how many clothes I need to take to ABQ
♠  Try not to spend any loot until Thursday. This will be tough as I REALLY want to see "Seven Psychopaths" this weekend.
♠  Always be thankful
♠ Burn more calories than I eat. :-)

Happy Weekend Beauties!

Autumn Awesomeness

Howdy Gals! Everybody good? Fall races are being run. Skinny Babes are being developed. Forward progress is all about. I'm thrilled to share your successes and worries and greatness and ehh days with you. Over here in the deep south, things are movin' along. I'm still searching for an online medical billing and coding program that'll accept my GI Bill. Still walking and experimenting with a couple of different fitness dvd's. Might I say that Jackie Warner must have some personal vendetta against me. My damn body HURTS! And my loony self sorta digs it. She's like the popular fella in high school that is mean to you, but you keep trying to get in his good graces because some attention is better than no attention at all. Ugh! Maurice is coming on to the scene and the Lumberjack is leaving, but damnitothell if he didn't do some damage. I ate a whole lotta everythang last week. Otherwise, I have no valid complaints. Still addicted to Words With Friends, Scramble With Friends, Jeopardy, and cookie dough. Life is dandy. The following article made me smile & be okay again with being un-wealthy. http://www.moneytalksnews.com/2012/03/21/8-things-you-pay-for-that-make-you-look-dumb/

Hope yall have a wonderful remainder of the weekend. And if you're off tomorrow, kiss a Native American and give Columbus the bird. Cheers!

♠  FOOTBALL
♠  Drink more green tea
♠  Birthday card for my niece
♠  Step away from the online games for a bit

Teeter Totter - Weeble Wobble

Good Morning Delights! I'm scheduled to begin the counseling program on the 3rd of December. A wave of "I don't wanna" has come over me as I realize that I REALLY don't wanna do that sort of school work again. Not now, anyway. Medical field is back on the radar & I think that'll be far more interesting and less time consuming. I'll be sure to keep you all posted on my [continuous] bi-polar career options. Back at my ranch: walking and fitness is going relatively well. I logged 2 3/4 miles this morning, did  some ab & arm work, and cleaned my apartment. Not that you'd be able to tell if you walked in right now, but it smells good. :-) My objectives for last week were also met: registered to vote, got a GA license (so sad), strolled, and used slightly less profanity. I'm sorta rockin' and rulin' over here.

The "Sons of Anarchy" actor's death was so bizarre. WTHades man?!?! I'm now reading a story about a street drug, "Smiles", that he may have been high on. Bonkers! Yall stay safe out there. http://vitals.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/09/28/14141952-smiles-new-street-drug-tied-to-sons-of-anarchy-death?lite

By the by, my clothes are all looser. Hooray!

♣  Mix up the fitness regimen a little
♣  Catch up with my family
♣  Not o/d on cookie dough :-)
♣  Make ABQ travel plans
♣  Stay optimistic

Have a wonderful week, ladies!

TV Replacing Facebook

Howd Gals!  Now that I have more tv channels, I'm lounging around just watching. Watching everything that comes in clear on the tube with the help of my rabbit ears. Ms. Awesome: SAVE ME! After NCIS, please. Good news? Ehh news? I begin classes for the counseling program on December 3rd. Why the hades classes are $2200 is beyond my comprehension. Let's just hope my GI Bill covers everything & I'm not stuck with a ton of out-of-pocket expenses. Maybe I should shop more reasonable programs? Thoughts? My walking has been pretty fabulous. Eating. Oh yea, I'm eating. Every freakin' thang! It's like pre-Maurice & Lumberjack syndrome is happening 2 weeks prior to their arrival instead of one. Ay yi yi. I'll have to steal some discipline from one of you gals just to maintain. Ms. Awesome & Magic, I'll be NM bound next month & will stay for about 2 weeks. We've gotta link up for some Duke City Shenanigans. Yall can help me twist my fro while we snack on something containing green chile! :-)

Celebrations:
*  Getting to go home on someone else's dime
*  The liberty to leave work early or come late for no good reason at all

-  Shop less pricey colleges
-  Use less profanity

Cheers Delights!

Destiny: Fabulous!

Hola Gorgeous Gals! I just arrived home from my first Toastmaster's Meeting. It was very different than what I imagined, but I think I'll be returning next week for a 2nd installment of random goodness. I'll keep you all posted on what happens and if I actually join this club. By the by, Ms. Awesome how'd all go with your sign language class and are you still pursuing that arena? Additionally, I've applied to a counseling program and hope to begin on December 3rd. Hopefully, I don't change my mind between now and then & just push forward to get my license. There's still a part of me that wants to pursue something in the medical field, but... that'll have to wait for a bit. I do really like my current gig and know I can really climb the promotion ladder quickly, and I just might. However, I know I'd like to counsel those who've experienced trauma - namely war trauma - and help them cope and heal. Plus, I'd be able to set my own hours and wear jeans. That's my motivation at the moment. :-)  Walking and fitness are still going pretty well. Even with the super large pizza & beer I had yesterday. I made sure I walked over 10k steps today & will try to do the same tomorrow.

Celebrations:
=  Finally attending the Toastmaster's meeting & connecting with new folks
=  Multiple chuckles throughout the day
=  Finally beating an (seemed to be) unbeatable opponent at Words With Friends
=  Tomorrow's Friday & I'm going to the dinner theater!

Objectives:
+  Tidy up my apartment. It's starting to look like Taz rolled through here
+  Finish my Goal Statement for grad school
+  Get b-day cards for my sister and dear friend
+  Turn off my alarm

Happy Friday's Eve Delights! Let's Get It!

Un-Containable Excitement

** FELIX CUMPLEANOS MS. AWESOME! **

Good Evening Glam Gals! Guess who's super charged about her new antenna being able to pick up CBS!!! Hint: I'm raising my hand. :-)  And ya wanna know why I'm excited to get CBS? Sure ya do. Because that's the flippin' network that airs Jeopardy! I absolutely have missed Jeopardy for nearly 2 years. Hmm hmm. I'm ready to put on the Pointer Sister's ditty and cut a rug or three. I'll save the rug slicing for another day as I'm watching The Voice right now. I won't spoil it for you, Ms. Awesome, but we need to discuss one particular "shuffler." I still wanna make out w/ Blake & Adam. At the same time? Maybe. For no real good reason, I didn't do any fitness today. And I ate some randomness - too much of it - for dinner. There was some pasta, chicken, w/ veggies and a heaping spoonful of peanut butter and a bowl of cereal. I may need to just go to bed and begin a healthier day manana. Yes. Oh yes. That's what I'll do.

G'nite Delights!

Celebrations:
=  Ms. Awesome's birthday & fabulous low weight
=  Having Alex Trebek back in my life
=  More channels
=  Cereal for dinner
=  The most wonderful girlfriends ever

Objectives:
*  Be better! Finito.

It's Not All THAT Bad, Is It?

Good Morning Delights! Welcome home again to Kim B. It was great to read your blog. Magic, how are you and your family healing? The next several lines will be random rants and rages that are taking place inside my noggin. Topped off with some celebrations. You know how I wobble: Not quite right. Here I go:

While yes indeed I am still giving myself a daily pep talk about "makin' it in the south", I also realize that this southwestern girl has just as much resiliency as a cactus & she/I will indeed make it as long as I want to. But hot damn, these folks get on my nerves sometimes. Wooosaaaah! Massages are really beneficial. Who knew that was all I needed/kneaded to help me complete a crossword puzzle that was giving me the blues just the day before. That little lady has some powerful hands & she worked out all the madness my back was holding. WTHades is up w/ Chris Brown's tattoo? If I were licensed, I'd offer him at least four free therapy sessions. Sheesh! That fella is special. I'm walking my toot toot off, Gals and it feels great. I know the multiple thousand steps per day are benefiting me fabulously even when I have a craptacular eating day. Yesterday was that day: I ate Burger King for breakfast (go ahead and puke now), an ice cream cone for lunch, and a sub par enchilada and taco for dinner. Yep. Friday fare at it's [un]finest. At least water was my beverage of choice all day. Yea...sure... that balances out all the crappy intake. Uh huh. Sometimes when I'm in the bathroom, I'll pull back the shower curtain really fast just to see if someone's hiding out in there. Now, what exactly I would do if someone was in there is what I don't know. Probably die like the dumb chicks in horror movies. Aye yi yi. Who's with me? Anybody? Somebody, I hope! This weekend I vow to add another adventure to my Try 39 list and do something/go some place I haven't before. Suggestions? I was supposed to be in Colorado Springs for a wedding but was constantly bumped off flights as I was standby status. So... what to do? What to do? I'm finally going to a murder mystery dinner theater show.

Celebrations:

Choices

Good Morning Delights! After the craziness with my [less than] super boss last week, I've decided that I'll finish out my internship right here in Augusta. Hopefully, when my 2 years are up, I'll head to nicer, comfy'er, more open minded pastures. I certainly cannot control what comes outta that woman's mouth, but I'll choose to react to her spewing in a positive manner. I've worked pretty hard since day one on this gig & I'll continue to power through the ignorance. Finito.  Have I ever mentioned that the insects of the south are determined to eat my skin until it's in the most unattractive state? Yes. This is all true. At the moment, I've got a paste of lemon juice & baking soda on various parts of my epidermis. Wish me luck.

Celebrations:
=  Rockin' my walking routine. I've truly been hustlin.
=  Erykah Badu's creativity
=  Making some progress in revamping my bathroom
=  Turtle Pie dessert at the French Market Grille

=  Baking soda. I freakin' love all that you can do w/ this stuff!

Objectives:
+  Seriously clean off dining room table
+  Send Jog-A-Thon money to my goddaughter
+  Grab a couple of groceries
+  Not overeat
+  Straighten up my place
+  Chuckle!

Mexican Soul

Howdy Awesome'ettes! Yesterday, my super-boss informed me that I'm really a Mexican woman. My whole soul and being and everything about me is Mexican. She told me that although my complexion is that of a Black person, I'm not really Black. Did yall know that? I had no idea that I was Mexican. A bit of background on her ignorant ass statement: Because I enunciate, am articulate, and not from a city or state that has a large Black population and that many of my friends happen to be Hispanic, this makes me Mexican. The kicker is that she doesn't even know any Mexicans. And I don't believe she's lived anywhere in the U.S. that's west of the Mighty Mississippi. So... after that ridiculous discussion, I came home and really thought about where I want to be. Not sure if I've ever mentioned this to you Delights, but everyday I give myself a pep talk about "making it" in the south. I know I'll be uncomfortable at various times in my life, but I'm pretty sure I do not wanna purposely live in a state (literally and figuratively) discomfort unnecessarily. Tomorrow, I may go in and have a chat about finishing my internship at another Education Center in another state. I'll keep you all posted. Thanks for listening/reading & your comments are definitely welcome.

Celebrations:
= Maurice came a week early but the Lumberjack wasn't as hungry as usual
= Another pound or 2 lost
= A super productive & busy week
= Walking every day
= MUSIC!

Objectives:
+  Send in absentee vote
+  Clean off dining table
+  Have a positive Friday and weekend
+  Make some folks laugh and smile
+   Not over eat

Happy Friday! Let's Get It!

Thinning Protective Layer

Good Morning Darlings! My abs are starting to be a little less shy and the layer that protects them is thinning. I can see and feel a wee bit of muscle forming there. Or maybe I was just having a good belly morning. I dunno, but they looked nice when I hit the floor to work on them after my walk. I'll keep yall updated on their progress and/or trickery. A friend of mine is sort of a fitness & healthy eating guru and has invited me to work out w/ her twice weekly. I'll need to rub Baby Buddha's belly quite often as we'll be working out in a gym. Not sure if I ever mentioned this to yall or not, but I absolutely detest the gym smell and feel like I'm full of all staph infections once I leave those places. One might say I have a mild (x infinity) case of germ-a-phobia! But... she needs to get back in the gym after being sidelined by an injury & I agreed to help out. I better have at least the "w" & "a" of washboard abs by December. Especially if I'm going to be staph-filled!

Celebrations:
=  Good belly morning
=  Walking nearly 6k steps by 7:45 this morning
=  Hotel shower curtain rod installed & the new shower space it gives me
=  The vast entertainment on the internet
=  iHeart radio, Pandora, and music!
=  Not having to turn on my alarm tonight in order to be up for work tomorrow

Objectives:
*  Catch up on my beau's show
*  Sorta do nada
*  Get the Country Fella some nail brushes (he's in DESPERATE need!)
*  Enjoy being lazy for the day
*  Spread cheer

Enjoy the Day Delights!

Donde esta mi morning belly?

Hola Gals! Where the heck did my nice, on-its-way-to-smaller morning belly go? Maybe I'm pms'ing and got the bloat to go along with it. Maurice & his lumberjack friends need to exercise themselves from my belly at once. I wonder if I look in a mirror while rubbing my belly and firmly state, "Go away lumberjack! Go away!" 35 times, my smaller morning belly will return. Just a thought. I've been doing pretty well with the walking, but overdoing it on fruit consumption. Could be why my belly aches. Hmm...

Celebrations:
= 10k steps or pretty darn close for the past 2 days
= Deciding to use my "guest" towels for myself. They feel so good.
= Completing day 2.5 of no spending
= The gift to make just about anybody laugh

Objectives:
+ Not overdo it on fruit consumption
+ Donate clothes tomorrow
+ Go to bed by 9'ish for the rest of the week
+ Be a rock star at the education fair tomorrow

Happy Almost Hump Day!

StankOnYa

Good Morning Delights! I am good and dang funky right now. I went on my morning stroll after 2 cups of spiked java & a bit of cleaning. Probably not the best idea, but at least I got out and walked today. While I have a ton of Objectives to conquer today, the first one has got to be bathing. Additionally, I'm entering another No Spending Week beginning today at ... let's say 4 pm. I won't spend any money until next Sunday. Not that I have much to spend after going cash crazy yesterday. Darn me and my no will power. I need help. A whole heap of it. No spending and regular, consistent  fitness for the week. Wish me luck.

Random List of things I'd like to accomplish soon:

+ Better time management
+ Find a financial planner
+ Really attend/join a Toast Master's meeting
+ Set long, short, shorter, and far future goals
+ Watch everything that's been hanging out in my Netflix queue
+ Dedicate at least 3 hours per week to professional development
+ Organize my closet
+ Take more day trips
+ Visit the aquarium in Atlanta
+ Build a piece of furniture
+ 3330 other things!  :-)

Celebrations:
=  Starting a new (inconvenient) savings account that would require me to physically go in to the bank to retrieve money. I also set up automatic allotments to be taken out of each paycheck. :-)
=  Recognizing the various areas of my life that need greater attention & vowing to do better
=  Almost being caught up on the Daily Show
=  Cooler temperatures
=  Not having the West Nile virus

Happy Sunday FTC'ers!

In-Communacdo, TGIF & other such madness

Hello Delights! So, I'm just eating all wildly lately and wanna stop myself, but uh... the post-Maurice Lumberjack has taken a liking to my appetite and belly. Doesn't matter that Mo has been away for over a week & the Lumberjack is really non-existent...I'm blaming them both. At least I can say I walked nearly 8k steps today & helped a lot of Soldiers & made a pile of strangers at TGIF's laugh. It was a good day. Queue the Ice Cube cd.

Celebrations:
** A whole bunch of'em & for that, I am thankful!

Objectives:
** Get back to fitness!

Does This Sofa Make My Butt Look Bigger?

Howdy Delights! I've been actively engaged with sofa sitting all weekend. Sorta cleaning things here and there, but mostly sitting around watching pseudo-randomness on Netflix. And reading magazines. And eating not-so-good for my body snacks. And chatting on the phone. My butt may be spreading like butter on toast, but ... I don't think I care at the moment. I'll walk later if it doesn't rain & will pick up fish oil while I'm out. I love Jason Statham. Finito. And at the moment, I like the texture of my fro. Let's see what tomorrow brings.

TAPS ~ We're so so so proud of you rockin' and rollin' and weight lossin' and jogging. You're such a studette! Inspired = moi. I will put on some sneakers and do some sort of fitness as the horrible acting Expendables expend all sorts of societal menaces.

Celebrations:
* A lazy weekend on the sofa
* Country Fella installing my massaging shower head
* Jason Statham (YUM)
* Ms. Awesome's profile pic
* Soft tresses

Objectives for the Week:
** A whole damn lot! To include:
=  Open a new checking account
=  Get as close to 10k steps each day
=  Give it all I got at the big family event taking place on post (I'm the spokesperson for the Ed Center)
     =  Not overspend
     =  Make healthy choices
     =  Smile a whole lot!

Cheers Delights & remember:

Travel Eating is Bad For the Soul

Hey Gals! I'm back from my half week in the Savannah (but really, not-so-close) area. I didn't make it down to the fried food eatery a.k.a Paula Deen's Restaurant. Nobody wanted to drive the 40 minutes. Canyabelievethat? Me, either. I'll be making another trip to Savannah sometime in the near'ish future. I'm not at all religious, but I can say this: I'm soooo grateful for being in Augusta and not in Hinesville, GA at that education center. I think we all get placed where we're supposed to for a reason or season, and I'm thrilled to pieces to be at my place. I really lucked out or somethin'. Something about me travelling means I'm going to eat in a craptacular fashion. CrApplebees was the closest restaurant to my hotel & I ate there twice. How can they manage NOT to have seasoning in pasta?!?! At least their dessert was good. Yes! I had dessert. A few times. I owe my body some water and walking. Repeat. Another thing I learned this week is that I'm good at networking & I can quickly move up the career ladder as an Army civilian if I put forth a wee bit of effort. There are some interesting places on my horizon, I think. It's been a few days since I've heard from Mr. Emotional. Might I be set free from the Too-In-To-Me Fella? I sorta hope so. We're not good for each other. Too strong = me. Too un-strong for me = him.

Celebrations:
= Great training at Ft. Stewart
= Music
= Good people (Thank Yall)

Objectives:
*  Keep a closer eye on what I put in my body
*  Search (again) for a dentist
*  Schedule a massage
*  Smile

Cheers!

Dabbling Here & There

Congrats to TAPS for rockin' through marathon training, WW meetings, and life in general. I'm also super jealous that you got to hang with the one and only Ms. Awesome! Ms. Awesome! Ms. Awesome! Please come over! :-)  Today, I will dabble in a little bit of everything. Movie. Packing. Sitting still. Rounding out the Olympics. Walking. Ab work. Examining my body for a staff infection (I'm such a hypochondriac, I SWEAR some flesh/bone/skin eating something is living in me!). Reading inspirational stories. Try not to overspend. Yesterday was the 1st day I spent money in 6 days and I did it up grande: A trip to Sams & Walmart, movies w/ popcorn, & took the Puerto Rican out to dinner. I'll rein it back in today & only get necessities. Speaking of necessities:

The three fellas in the dating rotation pool are maybe gonna spiral down the drain. The Country Fella (TAPS' choice due to the gold tooth) is the fun and funny and a wonderful southern gentleman. I just don't understand what he's saying a lot of the time. And he adds "ed" on words that already are spelled that way. "I likedEd the first one, so I'll see the second'un." Real statement from GT Guy. Hmm. Then Mr. Emotional is way too in to me way too soon. "Carmen, I miss seeing you."  Uh... You've seen me ONCE! How the hell can you miss me?!?!?! Puerto Rican Guy has a lot of personal stuff going on so he can be a little grouchy. I did get him to dance at the table (in his seat) last night, though. :-)  What oh what is a strong minded, witty tongued, modern gal to do in this dating pool?!?! Discuss amongst yourselves and let me know.

Celebrations:
=  Cool weather that promotes outdoor walking
=  The Campaign was pretty hilarious
=  Realizing that even a small popcorn was way too much & eating about 1/4 of the bag
=  Smoothly shaved legs
=  Sofa time

Objectives:
=  Pack for the week in (okay, near) Savannah
=  Swing by the office to finish some last minute stuff
=  Stroll & ab work
=  Eat plenty of fruit & salad today
=  Chuckle

Let's Get it!

Tubby Tastic

I had a HUGE morning belly today & decided it was gonna be one of those "fat" days for me. I had Mexican food for lunch (not a huge plate as I would've had in TX or NM) to go along with my fat day. I didn't do any fitness today, either. I kinda been rockin' all week & will be back on the wagon by tomorrow. TAPS, I'm not beating myself up either. It's easier to be nice to ourselves because everyone else will follow suit. Who has time for that? Not this chick. Otherwise, all is dandy. Busy as dam beavers at work, but I feel the respect of my leadership team as I get tons accomplished. If I can just get over the slow, non-progressive south, I might be able to stay here & have a great career. By the by, I head toward Savannah next week & certainly plan to eat at Paula Deen's restaurant. I know. I know. It's all heart failure on a plate dripped in butter, but a gal's gotta try it. :-) I'll be sure to report back once I un-clog my arteries.

Celebrations:
* Not cursing out the Sprint customer service reps
* Hearing AC/DC's "Back In Black" twice today
* Peanut butter & jelly sandwiches
* Having someone buy me lunch
* Being okay with having a lazy, pudgy day

Tomorrow's Objectives:
=  Turn off the alarm for the weekend
=  10k steps
=  Eat healthier than what I ate today
=  Resist the temptation to spend money
=  Paint my own toenails. YIKES!
=  Smile a ton!

Cheers Delights!

Rockin' It!

TAPS ~ You are rockin' your half-marathon preparation. So thrilled for you. And you're right, our Olympians are freakin' awesome! I'm watching diving right now & these fellas' bodies are so damn svelte. I need that in my life. And I'm working my way to that svelte body by doing Jackie Warner (I have this dvd: http://www.jackiewarner.com/dvds/personal-training-with-jackie-power-circuit-training) workouts. She's no joke & very great! A decent body is on the way. And I think I'm doing pretty well with food choices, too. OH OH OH (I'm almost making an "OH face!") - I walked well beyond 10k steps today. Yahooooo!

Randomness:
** I do not like to share my snacks. I'd rather give you all of them or buy you some.
** The Olympic commercials are waaaaay better than Super Bowl commercials.
** I can't figure out if I'm round or rectangle shape. I surely hope it's not a rectangle.

Celebrations:
=  A great 1st day back to work. After being gone for 2 weeks, I was able to rock through a lot of projects and help a few Soldiers.
=  Exceeding 10k steps today & wanting to do the same tomorrow.
=  The newly installed ceiling fan in my bedroom.
=  Day 1 of 5 of no spending
=  Soap & water

Objectives for Tomorrow:
@  Another 10k or more steps
@  Ab & arm work out
@  Productive work day
@  Catch up on the Daily Show
@  Be genuine!

Have a Fabulous Week Gals!

Saturday, August 4, 2012

Phew & PeeeYewww!

Hola Gals! My current body odor lets me know that I've been relatively productive today. Walked over 6100 steps this morning, vacuumed out that floozie ride of mine, cleaned my vacuum, and uhm... that's all for now. But I smell like I did each of those tasks 3x over! And before I shower, I'll do some work on the ab ball. Maybe some arm work, too. I'm on a wobble, don't stop me! In the midst of my cleaning frenzy, I remove my socks and sneakers only to discover that the polish is missing from my right pinky toe. WTBuddha!?!?!? Just missing like a man gone fishing.

Donde estas mi polish verde?!?!?! Oh, I had a brunch date in Columbia, SC yesterday. Thursday night I was thinking of all sorts of reasons NOT to go. The guy is soooo serious, which is the polar opposite of my personality. And he's a little emotional about his past. Turns out, he's a nice fella. Doesn't have gold teeth. Has southern gentleman traits & speaks well. We'll see what happens on date dos.

Celebrations:
= A clean car
= A clean vacuum
= Soap & water
= Great friends who keep me laughing

Objectives for the Weekend:
+  Toss/donate some un-wanted cd's
+  Organize photos
+  Prepare for a week of no spending
+  Clean up my dining area/table

Cheers!

What Am I Doing?!?!?

Hola Gals! I'm chillin' & staring at the heaps of stuff that needs to be unpacked and put away. Yep. I'm just chillin'. Listening to Earth, Wind, & Fire and being a little hungry. Have you ever sat next to Nervous Nelly on the plane who is anxious enough to nearly make you anxious about flying? NN was so anxious she was just talking about anything. And while she was jabbing away, she was sorta spitting on my arm. I had to just to settle myself on down & realize that I'm probably doing her a huge solid by listening. I'm sure her nerves stopped jumping a wee bit because I chose to listen. I even let her peak over my shoulder at the pseudo-erotica I was reading. I'm a great co-passenger damnit! Queen ME!

Guess what was in my local Kroger grocery store this morning. A little gem from home:

I didn't get any, but I sure am excited to know it's nearby. Alright Delights! I'm off to eat some cereal and unpack this dang suitcase. More important goals to come....

Cheers!

From the Gut

Hey Gals! My gut wants you all to know that it has no intention of deflating or slowing down it's expansion any time soon. I keep chatting with it. Begging, if you will, it to stop being sooo greedy and elastic. I've been on an eating binge since Maryland & need to be reined in. This is bonkers! I'm looking forward to getting back to the JoyJuh and walking, eating smaller meals, and being productive. I can say that I did do quite a bit of walking in Vegas & I'm walking a couple miles per day here in the Duke City. Uhm... all the walking benefits may be cancelled out by all the stuff my gut is absorbing. Today I'm going to Dions for lunch & I'll try not to over-indulge, but I so so so love that place. Having thoughts of salad. Mmmm .... SALAD! I can do this. Oh...watch out. Sausage & green chile slice has just creeped in the side window of the brain. Help me Baby Buddha! All and all, the trip to Vegas was alright & I'm loving the serenity of ABQ. The mountains are truly majestic.

Goals:

Not to overeat
More walking

Cheers from the Gut and Me!

Wearing What I Should Be Packing

Hi Gals! I'm in the process of walking in circles & thinking about what should be thrown in my suitcase for The Duke City by way of VEGAS! I pulled out 2 dresses & tried them on. Still wearing one of those dresses & decided to blog about it. I'm also sipping vino as all of this madness takes place. Lots going through my noggin about spending and health and wealth and work and what I'm gonna do with my life. Bleh blah ballooza! Maybe another glass of wine will help these chaotic thoughts pass. Meanwhile, on to the good stuff.

Celebrations:
**  Helping a ton of Soldiers today get ready to start college
**  Wine
**  A half-day tomorrow
**  Getting a massage tomorrow
**  Having the motivation to pack... almost

Upcoming Goals:
**  Buy a ticket for the Michael Jackson experience in Vegas
**  Boycott Chick-fil-A (I can't deal w/ the anti-gay crap)
**  Keep walking and doing ab work
**  Not smash my finger like I did today. PAINFUL!  :-\
**  Pack only what's necessary

This image came up when I Googled "flat belly":

New Pedometer

Hola Delights! I put my new pedometer to great use today & walked over 11k steps. Whooo hooo for me. I still ate like crap, but will rein it in tomorrow. The work place cook out will not get the best of me. No. No, ma'am. I've decided to not put any pressure on myself about jogging. If I do it... great. If not... at least I've maintained a decent walking routine & other fitness tools. I will, however, continue to watch my sugar & junk food consumption as I really want to have morning belly for the entire day. It's doable, right? Better be! Maybe that'll save me some money, too. Can I just tell yall that I spend entirely too much money. I freakin' suck at NOT spending money. Ay yi yi. Something is gonna happen for me.

Celebrations:

= Walking so many steps & miles today
= Doing 4 loads of laundry
= Getting in some ab & arm work
= Making Soldiers chuckle as I assisted them today
= Amazing folks in my life
= Getting to wear jeans mid-week

Objectives for the Week:
= Pack for the 2 upcoming trips
= Walk at least 10k steps daily
= Keep the junk food consumption to a minimum
= Stay grateful & not complain
= Spend less $

Have a FUNomenal Week, Ladies!

Hungry Hippos & Lumberjacks

Hello Delights! It's a sad and crazy realization that I need to get back home STAT! I've eaten and eaten and gnawed and chewed and eaten and eaten more food than any other human on the planet. Freakin' ridiculous how much a consuming can happen when lumberjacks team up w/ hungry hippos. I walked to breakfast one of the days but that can't even begin to break through the caloric mountain of deliciousness I've eaten. I'm tellin' yall... absolutely ridiculous! I will say this, though: I'm having an absolute BLAST! The pole dancing class was a hoot & great work out. Generally, seafood scares the urine outta me, but I've eaten crabcakes and shrimp since being here. I went to Busboys & Poets (do check it out" http://www.busboysandpoets.com/) for a fabulous brunch today. And will enjoy a lovely dinner with my cousin and friend's cousin and friend's friend. Danced my fro off at the wedding reception. Just a dandy ol' time all around. I did tell my dear friend about Gold Tooth Fella & she tried not to chuckle. That made me chuckle. And... I may have to not date him in the near future. How do I put "Change your teeth" in to a fortune cookie? HELP! Okay okay okay. I'm leaving him alone. Or at least leaving his tooth alone. :-)

Anyhoo, I've got to get home & back to a normal diet and exercise routine. I feel awfully fluffy here. HELP!

See yall soon. Lots of celebrations here:

♣  Getting over myself & being part of the wedding
♣  Seeing ENMU buddies at the wedding
♣  Being open to new experiences
♣  Having an accomodating friend who allowed me to stay at his place for 4 days
♣  Lots and lots of laughing

Objectives:

GET  HEALTHIER!

Sunday FunDay

Good Morning! Productivity resumes... relatively. Yesterday was mostly a sofa Saturday, but I did walk & get beat up by Tiffany Rothe's booty shakin' workout. Went to see "Ted" on Friday and it's hilariously un-right. Seth MacFarlane has got the most disturbingly funny thought pattern on the planet. Marky Mark still has a pretty decent body, though. :-) Today, I'm thinking I'll see The Dictator. Not sure why I dig Sacha Baron Cohen, but I do. Congrats to Congressman Barney Frank wedding his long time partner, James Ready. This is the America I love! I've strolled today, did some ab work, push ups & cooked breakfast. I'm now sipping slightly spiked java & A Tribe Called Quest is playing on Pandora. A Super Sunday is in store. Oh yes indeed-ee! What does that mean as far as activities? I have no idea, but I'm sure I'll come up w/ somethin'. I think Country Fella wants to get ice cream later today. The dating thing is a good time, mostly. I think I've only come across to fakers/scammers. I called one out on his choice of words in his profile & let him know he uses all the terms a scammer would use. He never responded. Hmm... I'll look at that as my super hero deed of the week. Maybe I saved a woman (or a man) from being take advantage of online. Ehh... Maybe the creep just moved on to the next "vulnerable" person. ** I freakin' LOVE OutKast! **

Ms. Awesome, thanks for bringing "morning belly" to the discussion table. I tried to take a shot of mine this a.m. after my walk, but it sorta looked like afternoon belly. I deleted the pic & re-convinced myself that my belly isn't all that horrendous. I'm doing ab work daily, so I'll be Magic Mel-like in the [distant] future.

Celebrations:
♠  Enjoying fitness
♠  Taking about 3 hours to get through a 2-hour movie on Netflix. Watch "The Wave" if you get a chance.
♠  Cooler temps
♠  Being okay with where I'm at right now
♠  Open minded-ness

Today's Objectives:
↕  Find the designs to make my brother some tee's
↕  Laundry & begin packing
↕  Go to bed early. Being off for 5 days has done a number on my schedule.
↕  Eat better than I did yesterday
↕  Smile lots!  Kinda like the oh-so-sexy LL:

Happy Sunday Delights!

Proton Positive

Good Morning & Happy Friday Beauties! Today is gonna be spectacular. I've sauntered, did some ab work & push ups. My coffee was delicious & I've had a laugh-inducing conversation with one of my dearest sista friends. Last night I met the cute Puerto Rican for a beer & food. We had a wonderful conversation & I dig his politeness and sexy accent. Tonight's date has been postponed & I'm pretty thrilled with that. Lots and lots of positive things happening all around I'm happy to be a small part of them. Hope you all have a fantastic Friday & weekend! Look forward to hearing what's going on with you all.

Celebrations:
♠  Good dates

♣  Control my fro
♣  Be kind

Cheers Delights!

Wheat bread-less week

Good Morning FTC'ers! I did go jogging the other day & it felt nice. Didn't jog too far, but farther than I anticipated. We'll see what else I can do this week. I've also completed the belly & waist workout this morning & did additional ab work. My jelly belly is on a roll! My plan is to not have any bread for one full week. Starting today. My short term memory issues may try to sabotage this plan so I may need to jot down a reminder on the bathroom mirror. [hopping off chair to go write on mirror] Done! Yesterday, I went on date #3 with the Country Fella. Guide me wise FTC'ers. The pro's of this Fella: nice, fun, taller than me, seems mature, has a motorcycle, loves his sons to pieces, involved in his community. Cons: sometimes I don't know what he's saying, has a gold tooth. I'm very well aware that it's not okay to date someone & try to change them. Just accept the good & bad and hope the good's outweigh the bad. But...uhm... WhyTheHades does he have to have a gold tooth?!?! Right in the front of his mouth?!?! Ay yi yi YIKES! Anyhoo, WWFTC'ers Do?!?!? And I'm not sure if it's a sweet thing or weird thing that he already likes me a whole lot. It's not fair to him for me to keep on hanging out with him if I know the shiny, butter colored tooth bothers me. This blows! I've got another date tomorrow night that I'm seriously considering cancelling. Dude just seems a little creepy. Yes. I think I'll cancel. Help!

Celebrations:
►  I've done some sort of fitness every day this week
►  Filling up my tank at $2.77/gallon. Gotta love living on the border of South Carolina!
►  Wonderful friends
►  Pandora!
►  The hilariousness of my family
►  Each of you Delights

Objectives for the Day:
♠  Swing by my office to finish up a travel voucher
♠  Mail/order birthday stuff for the goddaughter
♠  Figure out just how I'll arrange all the furniture in my room
♠  Several other things
♠  Stay cool & cute

Enjoy the Day Delights!

Jogging Fail...

Hi Beauties! Started out jogging this morning & down came the rain. Tomorrow. Tomorrow I will jog it on out. I couldn't really get in a fitness mindset after Rain Gate, so I did some push ups & the fitness ball. Counts for something, right?!? Can yall believe I made it through the day java free? Me either. I so so so love coffee, but decided to challenge myself & see if I can drink it every other day during the week. Other celebrations:

♥♥  My mattress arrived today & I'm looking forward to going to bed.
♥♥  Cooking a week's worth of lunch/dinner. Hooray for planning ahead.
♥♥  Country music - it always tells some sort of story.
♥♥  Dusting & vacuuming my place & cleaning the kitchen.
♥♥  Attempting to jog
♥♥  Recycling

The Objectives for tomorrow & the week & forever are the same ones that are in constant rotation. Eventually, I'll get around to all of'em.

Goodnight Delights!

Egyptian Lover(s)

Delights! Have you seen the Egyptian Secret Servicemen?!?!? Give me three please! Those fellas are yummy-licious & they need to know me. Them and my beau Jon of course. TAPS, I now have the opportunity to fly just about anywhere, you may see me SOON! And we will see JON! And Jon will see ME! Yahoooo! Maybe I'll have some of this gut gone and under control by then. Just when I see myself making strides...this dang gut gets in the way. I know I've gotta change my eating habits. But damn! I sometimes feel like I've made great adjustments already & the gut needs to just throw up the white flag and retreat. Gals, how do I get rid of this stubborn gut?!?!? Fine. I'll give up some bread. Oh how I love love love me some yeasty risen dough. I also need to curb the sweets/cookie/candy consumption. Freakin FINE! I bought a bunch of fruit so this better work out! Nobody needs or wants me to be the pissy, pushy broad. It's sooo unbecoming of me. Additionally, I'm still not doing all the cardio I want/need to. It's dangerously warm outside though. You all ready to throw a variety of cheese to complement my whining? FINE! More cardio in the house when it's not sweltering outside. Whining over! On to the good stuff.

Celebrations:
☼  Mini-road trip to Harlem, GA & visiting the Laurel & Hardy Museum
☼  Breakfast date with Country Fella. We had a lively conversation
☼  That photo of Egypt's FINE'est!
☼  Making the decision to eat even healthier. At least for a little while. :-)
☼  Short workout this morning & leg work as I catch up on my beau's show.

Objectives for ....ehh... for a while:
♣  Watch "The Wave" on Netflix. It comes highly recommended.
♣  Jog in July
♣  Complete the Waist/Belly workout 3x week
♣  Eat less of everything. :-(
♣  Spend less
♣  Not complain about the heat as my situation could be FAR WORSE

Chocolate Puddle

Hola FTC'ers! San Antonio was insanely hot. Just when I thought I'd get some minor relief, I land here in a hotter, muggier Augusta! WTdamnHadesMan?!?! I'm a puddle of chocolate, I swear. `Cept nobody is licking me off a spoon or out of a huge mixing bowl. [Now fantasizing about actions in the last sentence actually coming true!]  The class was just ehh, but my social schedule was amazing & exhausting. This old gal stayed out until 11 or so each night I was there & my body certainly doesn't appreciate that. No fitness was done at all. Absolutely zero. Unless ya wanna count ab work from laughing heartily each day. Yes. Yes, let's count laughter as exercise. I've decided to jog during the month of July. I figure I can hit it 2-3x per week & walk or do the belly/waist workout the other days. I'll grocery shop for good-for-me foods tomorrow before going to see "Ted." Can I just say that I am super charged about that movie?!?! I love me some Matthew Mac, but I don't wanna be in the theater this weekend with all the lady's who have read 50 Shades of Grey & are sticky'ing up seats over male strippers on the big screen. So... TED it is! I think it's gonna be hilarious. Back to the original thought: I was reading about the benefits of black beans & will get some of those to add to rice & throw in some red bell pepper goodness. I'll get a different variety of fruits & some lemons. Apparently, one should keep lemons around at all times. Yall know I'm gonna highlight my hair with those suckers by Sunday, right?!?!  :-) And I may have blogged this before I left, but I plan on trying/going/doing 39 new things/places/stuff within the next year. I ate sushi for the first time this week. Decent. Very decent. I'm on my way to being a CultureNista!

Celebrations:
♥  Annette's blog
♥  Free movie pass
♥  Hawaiian shortbread cookies
♥  Great birthday celebrations
♥  Being the sexiest chocolate puddle on the planet

Objectives:
♣  Groceries
♣  Maybe make my bed
♣  Remain the sexiest chocolate puddle on the planet
♣  Un-pack
♣  Send Thank You notes to everyone

Cheers Delights! Enjoy the weekend.

Miles-less Frequent Flyer!

Howdy Delights! As I prepare to hit the road (air) again tomorrow, I'm realizing I should definitely invest in some sort of frequent flyer program. What a dork I am for not doing this once I got this gig & was told I'd be gone ALL the freakin' time. Ay yi yi yikes! It's been a productive weekend. My seat cushions are reupholstered and covered. And I'm sorta kinda trying to teach myself how to use a power drill without messing up my entire project. Wish me luck, good eyesight, and a perfect screw! (Who couldn't use a perfect screw every now and again?!?!?) TAPS, I remember you mentioning that consuming sugar makes you grouchy. I think I finally get it! I'm not a pleasant person once the sugar high starts to fade. I'll continue to monitor my consumption and try to cut back as much as possible. Plus, my big ol' gut would welcome the break. This is just all sorts of wrong!

Celebrations:
= Having my chairs just about finished
= My wonderful neighbor & walking partner being so helpful in the chair process
= YouTube! You can learn anything from there.
= My super duper fabulous San Antonio Support System
= Target popcorn

Objectives:
♣  Finish the chairs & possibly assemble my box spring
♣  Dust & vacuum my place
♣  Get a great night's rest so I can hit the ground wobbling tomorrow

♣  Maybe cut my nails
♣  33 other things

Enjoy your Sunday, Delights!

Productive? Ehh...Not so much.

Howdy Delights! Haven't completed a lot of the tasks on my list from yesterday, but ehh... I managed to do just about none of them. Wait. I shaved my legs. And I may start packing as I watch the crucial Game 5. **LET'S GO THUNDER!**  I had to celebrate finishing my online class. And celebrating usually involves me letting everything else go to the wayside. At least I did some fitness. Gals, I'm feeling content with all areas of my life right now. And that's a great thing. While I know I could be doing more, I am doing enough. I'm taking pretty good care of myself and I'm happy. I thank you all for being wonderful listeners and supporters.

Celebrations:
=  Scheduling a date w/ Guy 3 upon my return from San Tony
=  My box spring being delivered today
=  A very lax day at work
=  Not spending money today
=  Cereal for dinner

Objectives:
♣  Everything I didn't do over the past few days

Summer Sizzle... Comin' Up!

Delights! I love wine. Wine may eventually begin to love me. I also love Seinfeld & am pretty sure it sorta loves me back. Anyhoo, not sure if I shared with you all that the lab guy sorta disappeared for a while. He randomly called me today & has the blues. That's why I've not heard him for a while. I'll try to help him through the blues & we'll see if we can have a fantastic second date. Or date 1.2, since I'm not sure if the 1st one counted. Fitness is going well & I'm aiming to have a belly half-as-sexy as Magic's by the end of July. [whispering to myself repeatedly] "You can do this! You CAN do THIS!" I'm ready for a spa day. And a trip home. And the opportunity to make more money. And to maybe/sorta/possibly start school again. And my new mattress. And a great summer of good dates. My summer is gonna sizzle because I will it to! I will be 39-years-young soon & I want to do 39 new things before I turn 40. I'm putting ziplining on the list because ... well, because I can. I'm also adding online dating for the same reason. I've got 37 more adventures to go! I may be able to obtain this goal in less than 365 days. Wish me luck & the winning lotto numbers.

Celebrations:
=  Hearing from the lab guy
=  Finding a place to donate clothes
=  Being more than half-way finished w/ my online training

Hi Gals! The date went well & we had a great time. He's definitely southern and definitely country. I had a hard time deciphering some of his words occasionally, but he's fun & funny. Perhaps Date Dos w/ Senor Willie will take place at some point this week. The weekend was productive & I accomplished quite a bit: laundry, a couple of dates, took in a movie, completed some of my online class, walked, ab work, arm work, did not spend excessively for once.  Wait wait wait... I take that back! I did buy a friend of mine a plane ticket. Ouch to the pocket book! So very worth it, though. "The 5 Year Engagement" is cute and funny. Check it out!

Anyhoo, I'm quite curious to know what's happening with all of you Delights. Babies are growing. Vacations are ending. Settling in to new places/spaces. Gimme the triple scoop.

Celebrations:
=  A productive weekend
=  MUSIC helping motivate me

Real Date # 3

Hola Delights! I'm about to prepare for my 3rd real date since being in Augusta & my first real date with a southern gent who goes by "Willie." Pasta eating and cosmic bowling are what's in store for me this evening. If it's a dandy time, I'll invite him to the movies tomorrow. I've done a good amount of fitness this past week and will start to focus on my bulging belly. Wanna be sexy as Ms. Magic over there/here/everywhere.  Personally, I want to focus on what I'll do next in life: Counsel? Profess? Hang glide? Who knows!?! Hope you're all having a fantastic weekend. Happy Father's Day to your partners y papas!

Held Hostage By My Own Devices

Hey Gals! I'm sure I've mentioned before how I'm held hostage by the vast and great inter-web and by Scramble With Friends. I freakin' love this game, although I think I'm linked up with a slightly less than honest  opponent. Whatcanyado?!?! Anyhoo, between SWF and instant messaging potential suitors, I have fallen down on my maintenance duties. My apartment is sorta a mess & I need to be doing a bunch more fitness. Change begins now! Once I'm finished blogging, I'll dust & vacuum, do some ab & arm work, and walk if it's not blazing hot outside. Otherwise, I'll jump rope. The fellas have got to wait. :-) I gotta say that I'm enjoying the dating and date-setting-up process. I'll keep you all posted as the fella follies take place. ** I love the Wheat Thins commercials with Alec Trebek! **

Belly Blunder

Hola Delights! My belly definitely paid me back today for eating in a craptacular fashion. My stomach was messing with me so bad I left work. Felt like rubbish. (That's my word of the day) The plus side: I've been on my sofa all day, surfing the web, relaxing, and making weekend plans. I have a real date on Saturday night. Dinner and bowling. I'm considering it "real" because it's all taking place late in the evening. I warned the fella that I usually go to bed at old lady time & not to be offended if I yawn. He swears that he'll keep me entertained. :-)  I'll keep yall posted. As you may have gathered, I did NOT make the local news. I did not assault anyone in the Sprint store and THAT, gals, is how this Follow Through'er stayed off the news. Yahoo!
Additionally, I'm on my way to my new bed. The box spring was ordered today. And I can get my new mattress in a couple of weeks. YES!

Super Gal

Evening Delights! Ziplining was an absolute BLAST! I will certainly partake in that activity again in the future. Made some wonderful friends-for-the-day and I may just connect with them again some time. Meanwhile, I'm a wee bit (read: A whole damn lot) frustrated with Sprint and my phone. I was having some issues with my phone yesterday so I took it in & paid $37 to replace it. I got a new (probably refurbished) phone which is now giving me the very same problems! kjkdfdfkflkew34klk@@##@#  I'm pisssssed! Channeling my inner [insert the name of the calmest person you know here] _____________. Please don't let me make the evening news.Pleasedontletmemaketheeveningnews.

Anyhoo, I went for a walk around the lake & wouldn't ya know there was a down pour of rain. All I could do is laugh as I was still just over a half-a-mile from my car. Chuckle and run and chuckle. I was drenched. Good times. The point is, I walked/ran at some point today. Hooray!

Ms. Adventure

Good Morning FTC'ers! I'm up and about to prepare for my day of adventure. I'll be heading to Rock Hill, SC in a little while to have a FUNomenal day of zip lining! As much as I would love some company on this trip, I have a wonderful notion that going solo will give me some much needed peace. I'm also happy to report that I've been chipping away at my oh-so-lengthy Get It Done, NOW list. Oh yes, the list is never complete, but what I put on there earlier this week has quite a few scratched through tasks.  YAY me! Oh oh oh! And I may have two dates today/tonight upon my return from channeling my alter ego - Ms. Adventure. One is with an old college buddy who happens to be out this way. The other, with the lab tech whom with I initiated date/hang out one. I'll keep yall posted.

Summer Confessions Series

Hola Delights! I've decided to embark on a "Confessions" mission. I'll try to confess to something daily or at least every other day. Today: I confess to highly disliking the misuse of the words "your" and "you're". Drives me bonkers! I also confess to not doing any fitness today but thoroughly enjoyed a single scoop of Jamoca Almond Fudge on a sugar cone from Baskin Robbins. :-)  I've earned this. Not for any particular reason, but I just feel like I did indeed earn this cone. I'll walk tomorrow. And I'll be workin' my milk shaker off at our graduation ceremony tomorrow. Yes. Yes. I've earned this cone. On a non-related note: The San Antonio Spurs are trying to give me a heart attack. Finito. On the plus side: my brother got a part time gig at the airport & I'll soon be flying about the country for free. Hoooooray me! And on to the regular....

Tomorrow's Objectives:
= Wear comfy clothes that will make it easy for me to
shake & shimmy all day
= Smile & be helpful
= Walk & do the hip/waist work out at some point
= Enjoy a nice sit down breakfast

Celebrations:

Sadist Stripper Lady

Howdy Delights! TAPS, happy anniversary to you and Ellison! Hope your day was as beautiful as the two of you. Gals, my body HURTS! Seriously! That sadist stripper chick with her hip hop waist work out is trying to do me in. Is it sad that I'm okay with that?!?!? I'm a sad case. Sad, masochistic case. I'll take a break from her until Thursday. And then schedule a massage for really, really soon. I'll need it after running around like a mad woman this week when we have a commencement ceremony. Oh, and I'm finally going zip lining this weekend. I won't let the indecisive me chicken out.** Joss Stone's voice is so so soulful. ** I have nothing exciting to blog except that having a green chile bagel this a.m. w/ butter made me miss home a wee bit. I can't wait to sit and stare at the Sandia's and Manazano's. Chomping a #9 burrito from Golden Pride and having some delicious java (not from G.Pride because their coffee blows chunks!). I'm trying to figure out when I'll squeeze this trip in between all my work travel. Yikes! I'm almost crazy enough to go in 2 weeks, come back home for 3 days & head to San Tony for work. Am I bonkers? Oh yes indeed! Anyhoo, I'm still feeling good about where I am currently and what I'm doing. I've just gotta force myself to not take on too much at once or much will not be accomplished.

Objectives:
=  Find a dentist
=  Mail some photos to my dad
=  Make sure I register to vote or renew my registration or whatever
=  Shop for various tickets to ABQ, Phoenix, and DC (this summer is already busy & it's not even officially begun!)

=  Do one thing at a time w/o being distracted

Celebrations:
♥  Ellison and TAPS! I remember your wedding day & all the fun very clearly
♦  Making some headway on my training today
♦  Giving a kick ass presentation to a unit of new Soldiers
♦  Great music
♦  Smiling

Whoring, Interventions, & Boys

Hey Gals! I'm a Target Whore! For some reason, I just cannot stay outta that place and am always inclined to buy something once there. Anything. All things. Today I went in for window/sliding door locks & came out w/  a dress and a tee. No locks. I sauntered about looking for locks, found none, and finally settled on greenish gear. I so need an intervention that will keep me from shopping. Seriously. I've got a problem with shopping and junk food eating. Aye yi yi and oy vey! And I'm very well aware I've been saying this for over a year. I'm just the sap who pretends to be working on the issues and actually avoiding them. Or (more often than not) justifying my behavior. Phooey phooey! At some point this week, I'll make a healthy donation pile of clothes and possibly a pair of shoes or 3. I went on a breakfast date with a hottie patottie this morning. He's got darling dimples and a sexy Puerto Rican accent and a fabulous body and backside and is just super cute. We're going out again tomorrow. I'm on a Sadie Hawkins (http://www.lil-abner.com/sadiehawk.html) roll! I asked him out to breakfast and he gladly obliged. That's two for two on dates or pseudo dates this week for me. I'm feeling fancy as of late & my confidence is soaring. Oh...I think I forgot to mention that I finally contacted someone from whom to receive guidance about online teaching. I offered to be his Teaching/Grad Assistant for free just so I can get a feel for how it goes. Hopefully, I'll be helping him out beginning in August and have my own class by the Spring semester. I also have some sort of malady that prevents me from focusing on one task at a time. During the time I've been writing this blog, I've read Yahoo News, instant messaged the Hottie Puerto Rican, and played a round of Scramble With Friends! I.Will.Get.Through.This.Blog.Without.Distractions.!

Objectives:
♫  Not to take a nap
♫  Finish cleaning up my place & hang some pictures
♫  Buy my plane ticket to NM

♫  STAY AWAKE! Not succumb to my sleepiness

Nice & Simple

Howdy Gals! Tonight after work I met the fella who I asked out on a date. We hung out at the lake that's in the center of Augusta. (Not sure why there's a lake in the middle of the city, but glad it's near me.) We just sat and chatted and chuckled and got to know one another. A simple, nice "date." Does that count as a date? I haven't dated in so long I'm not sure if there has to be a beverage and meal involved to make it official! Anyhoo, we had a nice time. He has no gold teeth, is articulate, and a seems pretty self sufficient. Perhaps we'll see each other again over the weekend. Meanwhile, I'm learning that I need to stop trying to take on too many tasks at one time. I'm all over the place with wanting to begin Toastmaster's, another degree, financial planning, community service, and dating. My roll needs to be slowed. And quickly! :-) This weekend, I will hang around my place & try to get my thoughts and things in order. The ineffective Tasmanian Devil has gotta get away from me. Or outta me. Or whatever.

Objectives:
=  Not over think all the goodness I'll eat tomorrow at Carolina Ale House
=  Order a birthday gift for a dear friend of mine
=  Walk
=  LOVE my massage!
=  Take a sabbatical at my desk

Celebrations:
= A simple date
=  Spurs basketball
=  Not being completely eaten alive by mosquitoes

Out of Sorts

Hola Delights! Either this particular pair of pants has shrunk or my gut didn't! YIKES! I did too much eating in SA & am now paying for it. Lethargy and exhaustion are taking over. Bleh! However, I did walk this morning and am about to go on my nightly stroll w/ my walking partner. The gut has got to find a new home. Preferably not on my body. I am reaffirming my vow to treat myself and my body better. Yes, I stopped by a movie theater after work and got a bag of popcorn. I just super love movie theater popcorn. Maybe I'll walk off what I ate. That's gotta happen, right? Plus it's hot as Yuma out here! Anyhoo, I'll be doing a bit better each day. I feel outta sorts and disorganized, so I gotta get it together.

My Objectives list is so dang long, that I'll skip listing it and go straight to the Celebrations:

=  The Daily Show's return
=  Movie theater popcorn
=  Seeing most of my gal pals in San Tony. I freakin' love those women!
=  Completing my Thank You cards
=  Receiving a beautiful necklace from my supervisor
=  Having a massage scheduled for Friday. My body hurts like the dickens.
