Yay! zzzzzzzzzzzzz

Hooray for The King's Speech taking top honors. Not so much hooray for my beau, Mr. Bale, looking quite mammoth in nature. Kinda weird, but with the help of Maury, Sally Jesse Raphael, & Judge Joe Brown, we'll be able to work through our differences.

Ladies, I've got nothin' more to say except for have a fantastic day (and whatever comes in later sentences).

Mighty...

Good Day Divas!

I feel mighty alright for having one more hour left of my 12-hour shift. I'll do another tomorrow & then back down to easy eights. I feel mighty alright for having watched "Waiting for Superman" the other night. Did I already discuss this? My short-term memory is for nada most of the time. Anyhoo, those of you with children whom you care about should watch this film. And if anyone's thinking about entering the field of education, definitely watch this film. Amazing, yet somewhat sad, stuff. And I used all my might to knock out some sit ups and push ups the last couple of days. Ole! I'm feel damned mighty about accomplishing personal goals one heap at a time. I've made a budget to help reduce debt; I'm losing pounds and inches (my jeans are almost at the stage where they're so big they look gross on me); I'm coming up with ideas on how to be a better me every day. Thank you all for comments, advice, encouragement and chuckles. I bequeath you all a little bit of time with my Bon Jovi poster. I'll even include some Clorox wipes to swab away my cooties.

Because I'll get home from work today in just enough time to prepare for bed, my goal list is mini in size.

♣  Walk a lap around my apartments if it stops drizzling
♣  Sit ups & push ups
♣  Watch Thursday's episode of 'Community'
♣  Wash dishes

Happy Oscar Night Divas! I'm still rooting for The King's Speech to take the big prize!

ZZZZZzzzzzz

Good Morning Gals!

I'm sleepy! And that's about all. I did do just about everything on my list yesterday, with the exception of push ups and sit ups. I've just forgotten to get around to those this past week. Belive me? Sure ya do. I SWEAR I'll do them when I get home this morning. Sheesh. Get off my back already mom! [Flailing hands in the air; stomping to my room to kiss my Jon Bon Jovi poster!] Okay, really... I'll leave a note on my lap top that says "HIT THE FLOOR!" & that will force me to do exercises before blogging/emailing/cyber-stalking all day.

Ladies I need you all to wake up & provide me your advice. I'm the maid of honor in my friends wedding next year. The engagement party is today at 1 p.m.  I go to bed @ 2 p.m. on the nights I have to work. Not only do I have to work tonight, I'm doing a 12-hour shift. The party is about 45 minutes away from my place. As the maid of honor, am I supposed to just suck it up, lose sleep, and go to the party? Or do I politely decline for the sake of bagless eye sockets & alertness amongst my addicts? HELP! Yes, I know this sounds like a word math problem when two trains are departing the Chicago depot at various times. I just would like to know what yall would do in this situation. I'm afraid I'd be wearing this to the party & Zoro is not my date:
Anyhoo, feed me your thoughts, please.

Bombarded By Breakfasts'!

Hello Delights!

I LOVE breakfast! More than a whole lot of other things, stuff, and any meal. Breakfast is my thang! I can't get enough of it & it certainly cannot get enough of me. Yesterday, I had decided to eat breakfast out only twice per month instead of twice per week. Guess what happened soon after that decision! I was dining out & enjoying a wonderful plate of American-made French Toast! YUMMMMM! Help me!

Okay, not much else going on. I accomplished quite a bit yesterday & today will be the opposite. I want to diet right now, but have a birthday lunch to attend. Help me! The bonus is that the lunch is in a cool part of downtown, so I'll head there early and maybe saunter about a museum. Culture at last. I'll make it a goal.

Today:
σ  Get in some culture & walking.
σ  Don't go overboard on Mexican food. (Help Me!)
σ  Sit ups & push ups
σ  Watch a movie @ work.  :-)

Happy Friday & Delightful weekend to all!

Thoughts O'Random!

Mornin' Beauties!

So, gas is over 3 bucks per gallon here in S. Texas! While it's not as high priced as in other parts of the country but DAMN! I live in the state with barrels and barrels and barrels of freakin' oil! It's not like I'm paying import prices. It reminds me of when I was in Paris and was charged 8 euro for freakin' iced tea but the wine was 2 euro! I guess that made sense but damnitjanetbastards! Anyhoo, off I went to fill up at the cheap times of the day (before 7 a.m.) & tried to contain my pissyness when I turned two blocks down and saw even cheaper prices. Homer Simpson has better luck, I swear!
Ladies, I've got lots of random thoughts & lots of goals/ideas. Flip your coin & choose what you'd like to hear (read) first. Be forewarned, the coin looks exactly the same on both sides. So, here ya go:

♣  What's going on with Elton John's face? Who has the worst plastic surgeon? Him? Kenny Rogers? Michael Jackson? Again, flip that same coin.
♣  Should I care about space shuttle Discovery being retired? I just can't muster up so much concern. What I do care about is that schools, teachers, and education programs are losing funding. So...uh...what good is a space shuttle if we cannot afford to teach folks the science behind the damn thing?!?!
♣  I did my part & contacted a couple of law offices to have my Living Will completed. Wouldn't ya know not a single lawyer returned my messages! Bleh. Have any of you ever used LegalZoom.com?
♣  Music videos are kinda sorry these days.
♣  I love the J.Geils Band!

♥  Elizabeth, how are you darling? Mayor Melanie, welcome back! Ms. JennAwesome, I am truly thrilled that your nephew is healing. TAPS, I drove by Texaco gas station near my place & thought about all the grief I used to give you about getting gas there back in the day. I can't think of the name of your Bug that had a black front end, but I told you that car wouldn't run well if you put Texaco gas in it due to Texaco's racism issues. `Member? Alisa, I remember always thinking you had fabulous hair. Wanna sell me some? KimB, this April we should meet for lunch. Let's make it happen. Gallant, I love your soul! I hope to meditate & do yoga like you some day. Thanks for the inspiration. Nichole, I channeled every alter ego that I have & we all agree that you'll be Chicago bound by the end of this year. Annette...RUN sister RUN!

Today I Will:
♠  Email a friend of mine who's a lawyer & get his advice on this Living Will jazz.
♠  Clean my entire bathroom, not just my sink.
♠  Bust out my Dave Ramsey book & figure out how to eliminate debt at a faster rate. Yes... I know you're all thinking, "Stop taking your ass to the movies three times a week silly girl!" Fine. Fine. I'll work on it.
♠  Write thank you notes to each of our security officers at work. Most of them do a grand job & I'm thankful to have them around.
♠  Walk it out & enjoy the weather.

Let's go TEAM!

My vehicle, my trick!

Good Morning Delights!

I was feeling really great about going in for my 20 dollar oil change & tire rotation. You know...the one I blogged about last month! Coupon was present. In I go. Chipper as all get out. Not even dismayed about the 1.25 hour wait I'll endure. I mean...the LATEST issue of Good Housekeeping was on the (probably stained with motor oil) end table. I was settled in to be entertained and educated about if the Shake Weight really works, foundation applications and what type of silverware to purchase. Three-quarters in to my engrossing article about domestic violence victim, Mary Clemons of Terrell, Texas, the young car stud comes over with a tray of dirty oil samples. Supposedly, all these dirty samples came from somewhere on my beloved SinnABurst. Said stud rambles on about transmission fluids, brake fluids, radiator hoses, this should be at this level, there's a crack in the washer fluid container, and some other Charlie Brown teacher speak. It was like SinnA went to the free clinic on the corner of Zuni & San Pablo (reference for my ABQ peeps) and came out with the equivalent diagnoses a lady of the night working that same intersection would receive from the nurse practitioner just doing her clinical's. My SinnA's no whore (a mama in denial = moi) and I do not appreciate the implication that she very well have that nasty woman's disease. (Have I ever mentioned how much I love The Color Purple film?)  Anyhoo, I am scanning the spectrum of cultures on the tray in Stud's hand & carefully choose to have SinnA's transmission fluid flushed and refilled. Wanna know what I really think about that process? No? So what. I'm gonna tell you anyway: SinnA got douched. To the fine tune of 80 bucks! Twenty dollar oil change ends up costing me $109.26. What the...cut the bull will ya?!?!

So, guess what Gals?!?!  I'm going to see "Unknown" and drown my sorrows in popcorn, Sprite, and a dingy seat with gum stuck on/near/around it. That's right. I'm blowin' this joint with my already-purchased deal from Groupon. After the flick, I'll walk the park for a lap or 3.

Sincerely,

Broke Vehicle Pimpette in S. Texas

Full Assed

Hello Beauty Queens!

Yesterday, I did indeed go full-assed at my goals. My room was vacuumed, dishes were washed, food was prepared, I finally saw "Bitiful" (Javier wants me!), and I dieted like Suzanne Somers on an ab-roller. Good day. And to top it off, I received delivered flowers from "somebody." "Somebody" is being coy & chose to remain anonymous, but the flowers sure are good lookin'. I also won a truck for which I bid on Ebay. How the hell am I gonna get it here from Wisconsin is beyond me. There's another I want in Santa Cruz, CA. I have a good chance at that one, so I'm hoping Wisconsin guy holds in/out & gives me one more day. Who wants to meet me in Santa Cruz & drive down to Texas just to fly back to your respective part of the country? Raise your hand! Yay! All of 10 of you are down for this road trip!

Okay, I can no longer focus on the blog. I want greasy Long John Silvers for lunch (don't judge me ladies) & I still don't know who sent flowers. I'm hungry  and sleepy. AAAGGH! I'll try eating something healthy. No guarantees. Here's a look-a-like of my new/old hoopty (hopefully):

Half Assed!

Guten Tag Divas!

I half-assed my way through yesterday's goals & activities. Yea, I dusted, swept, vacuumed some areas, and cleaned the bathroom sink (only because I was doing my hair). I even shook out the rugs & pseudo-sanitized the floor. Did I clean out the tub/shower or toilet? Did I vacuum my bedroom after dusting? Did I wash the dishes in the sink? Nope is the answer to all of those questions. Half-assed my cleaning. And I knew I was half-assing it, too. I mean, how could I not know when the dishes are kinda staring at me, waiting for their turn to be sanitized. My vacuum is still out, as a matter of fact. Just waiting to roll in to my bedroom & prove its worth. Yesterday was also my 4th or 5th day with a dull headache & the onset of an upset belly, so I'll use that as an excuse for bringing home the Half Assed Blue Ribbon Prize! I even half-assed grocery shopped. Two different trips to different stores yielded these items: bananas, pears, a dozen chocolate chip & walnut cookies, eggs, 2 boxes of Cranberry Almond Crunch (you know I'm THRILLED about my CAC!), coffee creamer, and HEB brand lemon-lime drink. Yep. The staples of sustenance! Queue the theme song to "FAME" because I truly am gonna live forever! Ms. JennAwesome, there's no need for you to ice your back to feel well enough to come over and organize this madness...I think I can handle it. :-)

Anyhoo, before my half-assed cleaning, I managed to hot oil & deep condition my `fro tresses. (The cleaning began during that process.) After the h-a'd cleaning, I showered, poured a glass of wine, made (more like semi-burned) some popcorn, & propped myself up to watch my all time crush's (Jon Stewart) show. Oh how I love The Daily Show & it probably loves me back. In a half-assed sort of way.

Big GOAL of the Day:

GO FULL ASS AT EVERYTHING!

Happy President's Day (bootleg holiday if you ask me) Divas!

Gettin' There...Inch by inch!

Mornin' Diva Delights!

I have gone clothes shopping for the past 2 days. I am noticeably smaller. Or so says the clothes I tried on & purchased. Hooray! I'm hoping to be down another 10 lbs by the end of June. That's gotta be totally do-able, right? I mean, yes... I may eat an entire German Chocolate cake when I visit Missouri in 2 weeks, but I should be able to walk it off at work. Uhm... sure, I will! The headache continues to throb mildly at my temples & I finally had to take an 800 mg IB prophin to ease the tension. My thoughts weren't qualifying for Daytona last night, so I suppose this wee bit of head pain is due to something else. Doesn't my noggin know that I don't have time for such pain?!?! Sheesh! Otherwise, I got in some good dieting & watched "3:10 to Yuma" & know that Christian Bale is waiting for me to join him in some high-thread-count sheets. YummmmEee!

For today:
↕  Clean my apartment
↕  Hot oil & deep condition my `fro & possibly have it trimmed.
↕  Buy groceries
↕  Enjoy the goodness about not having to work tonight. :-)

Disturbed Diet

Good Morning Divas!

Bob the Incompetent did me in & I wound up mailing my tax documents to an accountant my mother knows. Start your Good Vibe Sending Rituals now & wish for me to stay outta the pokie this year. I'm pretty sure I don't make enough loot to be audited, but ya never know. For the past 3 nights my dieting has been disturbed. Either by barking dogs, racing thoughts, or a headache in my temples! WTH is going on with me?!?!?  Well, my headache did disappear when I sent off my taxes. I think Uncle IRS was causing me underlying (or blatant) stress. Be gone Uncle IRS! I found my Army-issued earplugs, so I should be resting soundly soon. Now, if all the thoughts & ideas would quit treating my noggin like they're qualifying for Daytona 500, I'd be just dandy. Goal of the day...put speed bumps in my cerebral cortex!

I think I've found a law firm to complete my Living Will/Advance Directive. Hooray!

Other Goals for the day:
§  Enjoy a lovely breakfast with my friend's lovely mama. And possibly a mimosa!
§  DIET well!
§ Watch "3:10 to Yuma"
§ Analyze the speedy thoughts & tackle them one at a time.

Diet Crazy!

Hello Ladies!

While I didn't do too much yesterday, I barely squeezed in a few push ups and crunches. I was truly exhausted after work yesterday & today will likely be the same. Bleh. Tonight/Today at work, I'm going to work on amending my own taxes. I have this loco feeling that Uncle IRS will try to treat me like Willie Nelson and/or Wesley Snipes. C'mon Tio! I'm just a poor little black girl trying to make it through the year. Leave me alone. Someone needs to put that in a serenity prayer. Seriously. Oh, I also made myself two meals worth of fish and rice. Ole!

On to new goals:
↔  Amend taxes
↔  Advance Directive/Living Will (for real)
↔  Diet. Diet. Diet. I'm tired!
↔  Send tons of positive vibes out for KimB's friend, Roach, & for Annette's nephew & husband, & to Ms. JennAwesome's back, & to the Shimmy Sisters, Alisa & Gallant, & to TAPS cold to go away, & to Mel's soul, & to wonderful doc visits for Elizabeth.  Go get'em Girls!

Pretty Mundane

Good Mornin' Divas!

Nothing exciting to blog. Well, except for I finally found a place to recycle items since my apartment complex doesn't participate in a program. Hoo dee hoooo!  The nerd in me get's amp'd about recycling.

I did indeed do a load of laundry, my toilet tank was fixed, I sauntered about The Container Store & [later] up and down the halls at work, and only had a bowl & a half of Cranberry Almond Crunch. How do you spell success?!?!  C-A-R-M-E-N!  That's how it would be spelled if I were a school administrator at least. :-)

I'm feeling far away from fitness & need to step it up in that area. So, I suppose today I'll do more walking than normal & some arm & ab work. Maybe I'll make something delicious, too. This cooking thing may just turn me in to Julia Childs' illegitimate half-granddaughter. We'll see.

TAPS, thanks for that great quote! Keep on rockin' ladies!

Tankini

Good Morning Bootylicious Babes! (Yea...I said it! I believe it!)

I've got nada mucho to blah blah blog and/or report. I ended up working a 12-hour shift yesterday, so no daily goals were achieved. Wait... I called my brother to wish him a merry cumpleanos! Today, I may or may not get much accomplished. Kinda feelin' like I should do stuff. And kinda feeling like I should eat an entire box of Cranberry Almond Crunch. We'll see how the day pans out. While "tankini" is this blogs subject, I have no specific or concrete thoughts about it. I mean, I prefer a tankini over a bikini or one-piece, but... yeah...uh...that's  about it. Right now, the tank of my toilet isn't refilling on its own & I'm slightly annoyed that I have to lift the tank lid & make that process happen manually. Tankini! This will be my profane word of the day. "It's gonna be warm as tankini out there today!"  How'd that sound? Dumb? Dull? Delirious? Anyhoo, I'll set some goals for the day:

µ  Not eat an entire box of CAC although it's the most delicious cereal around!
µ  Laundry - at least one load
µ  Stroll outdoors
µ  Bribe the maintenance fella to fix my tankini tank!

Here's a photo of me looking like Roger from American Dad. Really. Check the comparison.

Because I had no goals set  for myself yesterday, I can honestly say I accomplished EVERYTHING!  A full day of lounging & catching up on NBC shows. I did indeed do some walking, push ups, and crunches. I even bathed! Hooray for me! It was a perfect Valentine's Day! Love me some me.

Today, I've got simple goals:

╙  Some sort of fitness
╙  Oil change & tire rotation

Love to Love You Ladies!

Happy Heart Day Divas! And a special shout out to KimB!  :-)

I have already made myself my Number One Valentine & am lounging in my whore sheets w/ Thin Mint Girl Scout cookies and java. I love me some Thin Mints (although, eating several servings of them are sure to keep me un-THIN), & I love me some fresh brewed coffee, & I love me some 800 thread count sheets & I love that I have stuff to love on this day.

Yesterday, I slept well, had  French Toast, saw my Army battle buddy & goddaughter, left all of Bob's hair in tact, walked to the grocery store for dinner fixins, actually PREPARED dinner (Italian sausage w/ basil pesto pasta that tasted seasonless to me. I'll do better next time.), & enjoyed the weather. Only one homeless fella approached me during my walk & he didn't ask for cash. He just politely stated that he'd like to find someone like me when he grows up. Aaahhh. Now isn't that heart melting? Sure he was probably late 40's to early 50's & missing some crucial teeth & was drinking an unknown beverage wrapped in a paper sack koozie, but what a heart melting statement.  If I'm still single by the time I reach 53, I'll go back for him. :-)  I also received another random W2 in the mail yesterday. I mean REALLY!?!?!  I've entered Tax Filing Hell & I'm quite sure Uncle IRS will be auditing the snot outta me this year. The spare change you've set aside to bail me out of county will indeed come in handy when I'm in the pen! Damn, I may need my Heart Melter fella sooner than 53 if I'm allowed conjugal visits. FM(damn)L!

Random Rants:
╩   Aretha looked thinner but in a sick way. Feel better fast Aretha.
╩   I wish I would've kept the Grammy's rolling long enough to see Marshall Mathers but they were smashing my soul.
╩  Will Bieber win big next year for being snubbed this year?
╩   The gal who lives below me has a nice, giant dog. I've begun to notice poop outside in a non-pooping area. Would it be wrong of me to scoop the poop & place it at her doormat? Why can't she just be a polite pet owner???  Uugh!
╩  There's gotta be a way for me to help my Veterans while I'm home in my sheets. Ideas?

Today:

I have no idea what my goals for the day are. We'll see what comes along & turns out fantastic!

Happy Love Day Divas!

Diet Delight!

All I wanted was some French Toast yesterday & to complete a few goals. Well... I had no toast & completed one goal in a big way:  DIETING! 11 hours or so of lounging in my whore sheets. They're such hostage takers on my nights off...these damned great-feeling sheets! I've managed to abandon them for a few minutes to relieve myself & make oatmeal & take a vitamin. I did indeed wash my hands in between those acts. I also saw "The Social Network" & enjoyed the oddities of Mark Zuckerberg. Today, I meet with Bob the Incompetent. While I cannot guarantee I won't use profanity towards him, I promise not to pull plugs of his hair out at the roots. If you all don't mind setting aside spare change to put on my books, that would be appreciated. Ya know? Just in case I end up in the county jail. Thanks. What may save BtI is that I'll be walking a mile to his office, enjoying the weather & good tunes. Wish us luck.

I thought about what I would do as a profession if money wasn't necessary & here's what I got:
= Test sheets' quality                                                        = Motivational speaker to teen girls
= Teach communications skills to high school students       = Judge/oversee grammar contests (if they existed)
= College professor                                                          = Social worker and/or counselor
= Teach health & sex education                                        = Travel & eat
                                                         =  Have lots of Sex

There ya go. That list is in no particular or ranking order. And I'm sure there are several other random professions I'd love to have if I didn't have to worry about money. Ladies, feel free to connect me with anyone who could help out. Sugar Daddy applications are being accepted. :-)

Goals of the Day:
¶  Not harm Bob the Incompetent or his hair
¶  Something cultural - maybe a play or museum
¶  Clean my bathroom
¶  Cook something
¶  Look up feasible professions   :-)

Here's to a Sexy Sunday Soul Sistas!

Dos Mas Peliculas!

Buenos Dias Chicas!

You're reading from the super proud diva that accomplished everything on her goals list yesterday. I FINALLY got through 'Inception' & it was better than decent. I got a care package off to Afghanistan & all the Valentine's gifts out to the god-kids & nephews & nieces. I rocked yesterday like nobody's business! Just finished 'Toy Story 3' (have I mentioned how much I LOVE working graveyard shift?!?!) & that, too, was very good. I enjoyed it more than I even imagined I Wood-y. (HA! I kill me! Is improv comedy in my future? No? Fine!)

As I was getting ready for work last night, I was thinking about our blogs and the content and how we're all so similar in many aspects. Right now, I like my job because it's easy, I'm helping others, and I get to catch up on movies & web surf. However, I am constantly thinking about what I could & should be doing. Much, much more? Probably. But what is it that I want to do? I hate teetering on so many grand ideas & following through with none of them. Escapism is my coping method of choice: As soon as I'm bored or fed up with one gig or supervisor, I relocate & try another. So...one major accomplishment I'd like to reach within the next few months (I know it'll take that long) is to jot down my interests & truly ask myself, "What would I do if I didn't have to worry about bills being paid and such?"  Hopefully, this leads me to some sort of eureka & I can passionately pursue my next great adventure. Wish me luck ladies.

Short Term/Today:
◄ Actually make something with Italian sausage (& probably green chile)
◄ Enjoy the weather
◄ Look at hot occupations & ponder if I like any of them
◄ See a movie ... I know your brows are raised in surprise at that one!

Enjoy the day & weekend Divas! Here's to sunny and/or warmer weather!

Things Could Be Worse

Guten Tag Frau's!

Wouldn't ya know the evening I set out to push through "Inception" the dang work computer ain't having it?!?! That leaves me to reading about my Vets, surfing the web aimlessly, and reading my book I suppose. Judas priest, will I ever get through this fraggle naggle film?!?! Judy Bloom should write about my plight. Anyhoo, according to the scale in my bathroom, I lost somewhere between 8-10 pounds. Let's call it 9 and move on about our business, shall we? I wonder if my scale knows when Maurice the Menstrual is here (he's a week early by the way) and takes pity on me. I'll take the poundless pity with a side of gravy any day. This sleep diet must be doing the trick. Or maybe the many laps I make walking the halls at work are paying off. Everyone should sleep and spin and eat Girl Scout Cookies and shovel snow and clean houses and fight folks for seating on mass transit. All of those activities equal skinny success. My co-workers have noticed that I'm thinner when I didn't even notice myself. Good thing? Great thing! Hooray!

Bob the Incompetent (hasn't earned the priviledge of having his name shortened) still has my documents & I won't see him until Sunday. Mel, I may just drive to Belen to meet your accountant. Seriously. I think I need a New Mexican to figure out my madness `cause that's where the madness began. Okay, the madness always begins & ends w/ me, but still...Nuevo Mexico played a hand in my current tax madness. Filthflaringpoppycockfilth! WTH am I even talking about in this blah blah blog?!?!?  Moving on to goals:

What Will Whirl Today:
¢ "Inception" or "Toy Story 3" or both.
¢  Books MUST go back to the library. They're due today.
¢  Find a recipe that includes sweet Italian sausage (that's what she said!)
¢  Diet.  :-)
¢  At least one load of laundry.

Greatest Gratefuls:
£  Catching my shows on NBC.com and ABC.com  since I'm asleep during their regular show times.
£  That I don't live in Egypt at the moment.
£  For being able to read people well.
£  Staying calm during mini-emergencies.

Everything & Nothing In Particular

Good Morning FT'ers!

Nothing superb to blah blah blog about. The massage was fantastic & much needed. Fluffy Haired Bob still has my tax info & I didn't bother to call him about it yesterday. I was focused on 'The Fighter' & dieting. By the by, I hope that movie gets some type of award, but still leaning toward 'The King's Speech' to take the big prize. I did a wee bit of fitness & had no spiked drinks. Successful day. I was happy to read that among us is a BadASS; a +.2 lbs more of muscle woman; a similar PMS'er; and all around dynamic divas! You all are my new addiction & I am grateful for ya. My other new addiction is HEB brand pita chips. DeeDamnLicious!

Moving on to today's goals:
›  Movement! I've not really walked outside for a couple of days. Today will be cold, so I'll do some indoor activity.
›  Donate or recycle old magazines
›  Return books to the library
›  Get through 'Inception' for real this time. :-)
›  Eat well
›  Contact Fluffy Haired Bob the Incompetent (hoping that I can remove Incompetent from his name) for my tax documents.

As you may have observed from comments to my comments, I did not go hurt Bob the Incompetent nor pick up my tax info yesterday. Instead, I spiked my hot chocolate with Amarula, had some German Chocolate Cake & settled in to watch "Winter's Bone." Additionally, I scheduled a massage & dieted nicely. Mania Un-resolved!

Guten Tag Hermosas!

Money can really make folks manic! I worked out a budget & debt reduction plan that should have me sitting fancy within the next 5 years. Seems far away, but I'm keeping it realistic. I'm sure I'll earn more money w/in that time frame, but I also have to account for inflation.  Called the student loan folks who were absolutely NO help at all. After being transferred around to three representatives, I politely thanked Betty and disconnected. I threw on a back pack & sneakers and walked up to my local H&R Block (hooray for fitness!). Guess who I met there?!?! Bob the Incompetent. Are my expectations too high of tax professionals? Perhaps. Yall let me know, please, after I break down the scenario. Ready? Great!

Me:   I need to amend my tax return. I left out two pieces of information.
Bob:  Okay. I should be able to get you all done. But I'm not used to doing amendments.
[Bob is looking over my paperwork & punching in #'s. He gets up and goes near the printer but returns with NOTHING.]
Me:   [trying to explain the 2 pieces that are not yet included] I forgot this retirement system pay out and my student loan interest paid for last year.

Bob:  [mumbling to self , "Oh, the 12:00 appointment is here."]  Do you just want to leave this here and let me work on it? I don't know if I have to re-do the WHOLE thing or what forms I need to use. And you don't want to be here for two hours when you can be at home. I get in at nine, call me at nine-thirty. I'll work on it tomorrow and have it ready to be picked up on Wednesday.
Me:  I don't feel entirely comfortable with leaving my information here as my identity has been stolen twice.

A few more exchanges took place. I left feeling uncomfortable but trying to convince myself that I should TRY to trust Bob the Incompetent. Still not feelin' it. I'll go back today & retrieve my documents. I may ask around for an accountant or just figure out the amendment myself. I've already looked @ the form on IRS.gov and am pretty sure I can make it happen. Thus, my money mania was unresolved for Monday & I wanted to pull Bob's fluffy ass hair!  The sunnier sides of the day included me grabbing Valentine's cards for the kiddos, care package contents for a friend in Afghanistan, and a walk outdoors.  Also got some good dieting in. The day wasn't a complete bust. Just manic as it needed to be. :-)  Thanks for listening Divas!

Today I Will:
†   not hurt Bob or his hair when I retrieve my documents.
†   watch Winter's Bone. Have I mentioned how damned great Netflix is?!?!
†   Follow through with massage scheduling. I got too distracted yesterday.
†   Keep my fellas from departing the program early. (I've already achieved this one. Hooray!)

Again, thanks for listening to the mania & wishing you all a fabulous day!

Manic Money Monday!

I achieved quite a bit yesterday! At least most of the goals I set out to achieve were accomplished. I had friends over for the game, so I thought it'd be odd if I just started doing push ups & sit ups during commercials (did some this morning). Plus, I would've missed a grown man having cheese licked off his fingers by another grown man. The Doritos commercials were killin' me. Anyhoo, on to my mania! I'm armed with the my debt numbers & will finish a debt-reduction by tomorrow. THERE! I gave myself a deadline, therefore I must meet it! I'll get with a professional to re-calculate my taxes as I have messed them up oh-so-royally! EEEK! It is truly a day of money mania & I gotta put on my game face (even if the Steelers left there's in PA...uggh!) to make it successful. Queue my music of the day... The Peach Coloured Soul Singers!

Today:
$ Call the student loan folks & get a grasp on what I REALLY owe.
$ Hook up w/ H&R Block on if I owe or what the hades is going on w/ my taxes!
$ Use my already bought Groupon coupon for a movie (if I don't end up in a diet coma).
$ I won't spend any money unnecessarily but I will get the kiddos in my life Valentine's gifts.
$ Schedule a massage --- so very NECESSARY!

Thankful for:
* My clothes being looser  :-)
* Being able to do more push ups
* My motivation this morning
* The accountability placed on me by the FT'ers
* Peanut butter

Overboard Binger!

So, I had steak & steak fries (because Texas loves a big bellied gal) & salad & bread. While I only ate half of the steak & fries, I went overboard on bread. I LOVE bread & bread LOVES my belly! After that meal, I did no walking around the outlet mall as intended. I got in my car & drove my binging, bloated ass 46 miles back to SA & climbed in to the bed immediately. 12 hours of "dieting" ensued & now I'm awake & truly considering joining WW with you all so I can stop eating like a cave man. I am fully aware that I cannot lose weight without making better food choices. Nemrac believes the opposite. It's time she take a vacation from my head. :-)  Before I commit to WW, I will give myself 2 weeks of eating cleanly to see if I can stick with self-imposed alterations to my diet. I must admit that the steak binge was the first one in a long, long while & I generally eat small portions. Wish me luck, ladies!  I need a massage! Pretty sure my masseuse does not want to rub this belly. Well, maybe they will for good luck!

Today I will:
= indeed see a movie
= deliver my donations
= walk the park or something like that
= dust, vacuum, & do some laundry
= do sit ups & push ups during Super Bowl commercials

Thankful for:
= recognizing when I've eaten too much
= being a decent writer
= the resolve & positive attitude of Elizabeth (sending well wishes your way)
= the weather
= libraries

Shut the Eff Up!

Good Mornin' Divas!

Because I work the graveyard shift, I usually have a whole heap of peace while I'm here & I usually watch a movie from 2-4am. Well, this morning/last night, folks were not having it! It went from one fella trying to talk me to death from 1:50 - 2:35'ish a.m. to another trying to roll out (literally, as he is in a wheelchair) for a smoke @ 4:00 a.m. And I'll be damned if the security guard didn't come rapping & tapping on the door @ 4:19!!! "People!!!! I'm sitting in the dark trying to finish a quarter-decent movie! Leave me the hell alone! I mean REALLY!" Those were my thoughts as the interruptions flowed. And when I ask, "Is there anything you want or need?" Please don't try to be cute with the response of "Y.O.U.!"  Freakin' yuck! Getdahellowdaherewillya?!?! Do I PMS much? Sorta. :-) Maurice the Menstrual will be here in approximately one week, so these fellas will catch hades up until then. Anyhoo, on to more boring topics...

As mentioned a couple days ago, I went through the lists of things I said I was going to do & have yet to accomplish. I did, indeed, look in to the medical coding course, but it was full. I'll have to try again in May. The social work program application is all complete & I've decided against pursuing that degree. My flakiness can crust three pies, I tell ya. I do not want more student loan debt as I'm unhappy with what I'm already having to repay. So, won't become a social worker any time soon, if at all. I've started to start a budget & debt reduction plan at least 5 times. I will complete the plan w/ in the next 5 days. (I hate to say I'll do it tomorrow, as I know me all too well & I'll let other stuff distract me.) I will take my donations to the women's shelter today or tomorrow morning. Uhm...I'm sure there are some other things I said I'd have accomplished by now, but I've voluntarily let them slip my mind. I'll work on what's currently filling my Do NOW plate.

Yesterday:
I did do a wee bit of fitness.
I chatted it up w/ my dad for over a hour & it was fantastic!
I finished a movie & even another this morning.
I picked up my new favorite wine. (A tipsy blog may be in the near future)

Today I hope to walk the outlet malls in San Marcos before or after eating a hearty steak. Yay!
And I hope to diet like no other! Wouldn't ya know... the peach-coloured black men are on the radio again. Sara & I both are smiling! Another one of my guys just poked his head in my barely ajar door & asked if I wanted him to leave! Uhm...YES! I'm eating lunch. Sheesh.

Sorry for the length of pissyness Divas! Enjoy the day & tomorrow's blah blah blog will be lighter!

Whiny Weather

Good Morning Favorites!

Is it okay for me to keep blame the weather for my lack of motivation and unproductiveness? C'mon! Let me. Pleeeeeeeese! See there...my whining has begun. Yay for whiny weather. At least I didn't get tipsy before noon yesterday. However, I also didn't do any fitness either. Unless, of course, you'd like to count me trekking down a slope because the stairs were sealed off to get in to my freakin' building and then going out to slide across the snowy parking lot later. Yes. Yes. I am fully aware of that long ass sentence & know it's crappy. :-)  Today, IF I get home (the city has already began to shut down hiways and streets and buses, etc...), I'll do some push ups and sit ups. Fo' real. I'm not joshin' this time.

I went through my Priority PRIORITY list & noticed many un-done tasks. Damnit, I suck gnat balls sometimes with following through. However, I now am serious about getting some of them accomplished. Again, no joshin'. I even am looking at a map of Texas to see where KimB & I can meet to chuckle and dine. Muleshoe here we come?!?! :-)  I finished "Dinner for Schmucks" this morning (I LOVE the graveyard shift) & will finish another movie should I get home. Whoo hoo, I'm on my way.  Nemrac Minnetonka hasn't completely taken over Carmen's life yet!

Ladies, thanks to each one of you for keeping me in check & making me just chuckle. Elizabeth, we're sending all the positive vibes to ensure you STAY on THE MOVE! We love ya sister!

Have a great one Divas!

Water & Wine = Happy Times!

Hello Hot Mama's!

Yesterday, I had the intention of achieving a great deal. I was a bit frazzled from work the night before. Let me rephrase that... I wasn't frazzled, I was plum pissed off. So, I came home & thought I'd go through my Priority PRIORITY list & start knocking off some tasks. Somehow, I ended up soaking in the tub & had 2 glasses of wine. Well, guess who can't focus on her DO IT NOW list when she's hot and tipsy! [Hint: I'm raising my hand]
Are you ready to raise your eyebrows in surprise (Mel, I know you can do this as you wrote that you added them back to your lovely face)? I didn't do a damned thing on my list. Wait, did I have a list???  Oh...I did some push ups before going to work last night. I may do some again today. We'll see. I'm out of wine, so I should be good and productive unless Nemrac, the alter ego of Carmen, decides to have spiked hot chocolate.

Today:

* I will not get tipsy before noon!
* I will do some sort of fitness.
* Possibly finish a movie.
* Maybe get my tires rotated.
* I will find out if I left a Texas retirement savings account open somewhere.

Thankful for:

Every one of you every single day!

Excitmentless in Tejas!

Hello Divas!

Well, yesterday didn't provide much excitement. Didn't really leave my place because of the cold weather. And while it's not NEARLY as cold as it is for any of you all, it was too damned cold for me to pretend to function as Carmen the Great! I did sleep. And did not do push ups because I plain ole forgot. I'll make it happen today though.

I also plan on going back through January's blogs to see what I set out to do & have yet to conquer. Those items will move to the top of the priority priority list. (Yea, there's priorities and then there are real PRIORITIES!) I'll also do some indoor fitness to keep the cold blood circulating.

Wishing you each a healthy, sunny, and productive day.

Cheers!

Hooray Ole for Love Month!

Hello Divas!

Congrats on a successful month one! I gotta say we all kicked ass even if we felt like our
asses kicked us some days.

I'm tired & don't have much to blog blog blog today. I've got to get a bulb replaced in my
car & am just whipped about the idea of paying someone to do it. But, since I bragged about
it being 81 degrees here the other day, it dropped to a cool 37 & I aint trying to do car work
in that temperature.

So...I'll head out & see if one of these local spots will change the bulb. I may not make it to
the movies as my sleep diet may take over. I'll force myself to at least do some push ups.

I know we'll have a Fantastic February! Happy Black History Month to you Sistas, too!
