Beginning Spa Bliss!

Good Morning Delights! Just wanted to say thanks to each of you for your kind and supportive words about my GA gig! I am SO excited that the security clearance portion is complete & I will have a start date soon. I'm ready to roll! Literally and figuratively if I keep growing this belly. :\  Today I'm getting a facial and my eyebrows managed. Monday I get a salt scrub & massage. I suppose I'll get my piggies repainted while I'm at it. My body is in desperate need of spa treatment and I deserve all the services. There's a good chance I'll be coloring my `fro again tomorrow, too. It's looking ashy at the moment and I don't dig that at all. I'm hitting a beer and burger happy hour tomorrow evening to celebrate making it through this demon week and receiving the news about my gig. So...yea...the weekend is all about me. Mostly. I do have a bridal shower to attend. And this brings me to the opinion question of the day: The bridal shower is for a friend whose wedding I am the Maid of Honor. We've been discussing showers this past week, and I think she's up to FOUR! Yes...there will be at least four showers for this ONE wedding. Is this the norm nowadays? I get having two if some of the family lives in a different location, but FOUR! I think it's overboard, greedy, and ridiculous. Am I completely out of touch with wedding reality? Help me Baby Buddha!

Fall Renewal Tips:
3 - Clear away clutter at home or the office. Clutter clogs your channels of creativity. Make some space, and some money, by taking books you've read to a used bookstore and redeeming them for cash. Throw away old papers and file only those that you must keep. Then observe how smoothly your thoughts flow.

5 - Clean out your closet. Send clothes you'll wear to the cleaners if they need it, and donate those you won't use to a women's shelter or community organization. Take garments in mint condition to a consignment shop and make money on resale. Remember, when you let go of things you no longer need, you make space for new blessings.

To do my part and to be in the flow of renewal, I'll be going through my books and dvd's today or tomorrow & donating them to my local library. I already make a monthly donation trip to the women's shelter, but I bet I can find some other items to throw in the bag. And because my mama didn't steal anything from my place on her last visit, I'll send her an antique clock she was eyeing on my shelf. One less thing for me to pack, right? Yep. No more major objectives for the day besides staying off my foot. I've gotta figure out a way to burn fat and calories while staying put. :)

Throwing In the Towel

Good Morning Delights! I've decided to STOP trying to walk or do too much (or very little) on my gimpy wheel. [to my gimpy right foot] Fine Right Foot...You WIN! I will not do any exercise that will cause you grief. I will not wear crazy shoes or boots & sacrifice matching and looking half cute so that you can heal properly. I'm throwin' in the towel, Right Foot! You are the victor! [hobbling off, stage left] Today, I'm shaking loose all the negative energy that my workplace is exuding & will focus on great happenings! Some great things that happened yesterday:

+ One of the nurses brought me a heaping & delicious slice of German Chocolate Cake! I LUV GCC fo' real.
+  I discovered this odd movie by accident on Netflix & will watch it today. Read about it & get creepy curious with me: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1152828/
+  My goal of raising $200 for diabetes awareness was achieved!
+  I actually did abs, arms, and legs. Ole!
+  I laughed until I cried. My girlfriends are phenomenal!
+  I saw pics of 2 beautiful FTC'ers that enjoyed lunch and tomatoes together.  :)

It was a good day. Ice Cube couldn't have done it better! I was/am starting to get a bit paranoid about the GA gig being sabotaged by my current boss, but I've gotta keep pushing forward with moving plans.

Objectives of the day:
= Take it light!

Enjoy the day Divas!

At First I Was All....

ready to do some fierce battling! [See War Face above] Then the bosses boss said he'd like me to try to resolve things "at Carries level first." Yes, there should be an apostrophe there. Yes, Carrie is my immediate supervisor. Yes, I've tried to resolve things with this broad on several occasions.  ** Good Morning Delights!**  After reading his reply message I felt a barrage of emotions: anger, disgust, disappointment, failure. In order for me to slow my thoughts down & go to sleep, I had to remind myself that Karma (and maybe Carmen) will get her. Someday, she'll tell the wrong person to "just get out of here" [meaning her office & possibly my job] and find herself with a concussion. I know this because I was so close to shaking the shit outta her myself. Anyhoo, I did not shake her. Still have the desire to, but I will refrain from doing so.  Can't say that I'll feel one bit of empathy for her once that, or something similar, happens. Of course, I wanted to go home and drink sangria after yesterday morning's heated discussion. But she's not worth my tasty drink. Sangria is for celebrating! And as soon as the offer letter hits my Inbox, sangria sipping will commence! Cheers! Today, I retreat back to the bushes and wait... patiently wait for the right moment to attack ...  passive-aggressively at the worst possible time. The Army taught me a thang or three.

Unfortunately, my gimpy wheel was really hurting once I got off work. Something to do with all the work tension? Probably. I didn't stroll, but will go today. Also completely forgot about ab, arms, and legs due to being furious. Again, today will be the day I start getting back to a healthier me. I did manage to send my mama a text about hooking up Ms. Awesome with a waitress gig & was thrilled to see a reply upon waking. So, uh...Ms. Awesome, I'll be contacting you today with contact info. YAY!

Today's Objective:
♣  Do what I can handle & smile while I handle it!  (Get naughty with that if you must!)

Climb on the Bus, Gus!

Good Day Delights! In my efforts of trying not to complain... I just won't! :)   How's that? Opting out of complaining. Plus, I have a pretty decent life and am pretty fortunate to be rolling around like I do. Yesterday morning I went for a "real" walk & my gimpy wheel didn't give me too much trouble. I was so THRILLED to out there hobbling that I just didn't let my foot issue get to me. I may try again today & add arms, abs, & legs. Maybe this will be me some day:

My supervisor wants to see me about the email I sent. I won't make an attempt to see her first...she can come get me. ** BABY BUDDHA...GET ME OUTTA HERE! ** I made a delicious pot of turkey chili & threw in some salsa & sweet bbq sauce. Mmmm mmmm! I should send you all a sample. Plus, bbq sauce makes everything greater:  fries, chili, men, burgers, etc.  I'm sleepy. So I'll wrap up this blog.

Fall Renewal Tip:
For Nichole =>  1. Plan a weekend getaway well ahead of time so that you'll be able to enjoy less-crowded resorts, fall foliage or off-peak lodging deals. [Paraphrasing] A dear sisterfriend embraces the season with a two-day retreat. She clears hr mind and takes a break from her responsibilities as homemaker, mother, and wife. Renewed and refreshed, she returns to see ways she can simplify and reorder her life to bring her more peace and joy.

Goals for the day:
♫  Walk & such
♫  Stay focused & positive
♫  Diet well

Luther

Good Morning Delights! I've begun my day with watching "Luther." Some cop/detective series starring Idris Elba and all his sexiness. And how cool is the name Luther? Okay...so sexy evil to some. But sexy nonetheless. :)
Here are some random rants that should've been thrown in yesterday:
♣  I want to begin incorporating "beguile" in to my daily vocabulary
♣  Forgot to mention to you all that I sent a very un-nice email to my boss last Thursday. And I know it was too loose because I've been thinking about it since I hit "Send." Think it's time for me to go? Oh yes indeed it is! I'll keep you all posted on the backlash. But I promise you, she had it coming!
♣  Ms. Awesome, what type of work are you looking for? Do you have any connects in ABQ? I know a couple of folks and no...you won't need clear heels bedazzled in glitter.
♣  How come red-headed fellas are not as good looking as red-headed ladies?
♣  Who wants to go on a shopping spree with me? And pay for it? You gals are the greatest!

Objectives for the day/week:
+  Keep trying to stabilize the gimpy foot
+  Make a few tees for my brother
+  Try not to be beguiled by others  :)
+  Maybe go for a stroll
+  Not complain

Lovin' You FT'ers!

Good Morning Delights! I apologize in advance should this blog turn in to a  ramble. There's been a thunder and lightening show for the past 2-3 hours and I am LOVING it! Love the chaos of the skies & that it provides bright lights in true exhibitionist fashion. WhootWhoot! I'm watching Positive Living on IONtv & the hostess just asked some relationship expert, "What do men want more than anything else?" The expert said, "No frustration." What do you gals think? ... I had a ton of ramblings at the beginning of this blog but began Facebooking and watching Family Guy. And I'm kind of hungry. And sleepy due to being awake for like...EVER! Blog begins it's descent in to random, bonkerness. Love you FT'ers and all that you're doing these days. Wishing you all greatness as you move about the country, inside your own heads, in zip cars, and other wonderful places. And I also love yall for reading the chaos I throw down every day.

Today's Objectives:
= Take it easy on my foot
=  Watch football
=  Maybe get some birthday cards & Icy Hot
=  Enjoy the rain!

Uncomfortable Stroll

Good Morning Divas! I am so tired of my gimpy foot that today I decided to stroll. No.Matter.What. So, off I went for 2 laps around my apartment complex. Lots of discomfort, so I stopped at one lap. I did come back inside to do ab work and push ups, though. Since I've not been able to stroll, I've found 5 pounds that were lost somewhere. GREAT! :\  And I've been eating a lot of crap because I'm bluesy about not being able to walk. It's all really ridiculous and ... well, it's just ridiculous! Today, I'm grabbing some Icy Hot in hopes that it starts to cure the gimpy blues. I may call my dad and ask him to "write" a song about my gimpy blues & have him play it on his harmonica. By the by... my dad carries a harmonica with him at all times & just busts it out randomly. And we all just start dancing/knee slapping to whatever he's playing at the time. Yep... The A[lexander]-Team is some kind of fabulous! Last night I had a dream that I moved to GA with all my goods in a regular-sized van and an amazing moving team. Ice-T was one of the movers. Yes...odd, I know. And we arrived at my friend Ricky's place, which was huge. As we started to unload my wares, I realized that I had forgotten ALL of my dishes in San Antonio. "Oh well, I guess they'll just take that out of my deposit" was my sentiment. So the unloading continues & I notice that my dining room table isn't in the van either. And we're all just chuckling about forgetting obvious furniture and not packing up the kitchen. So, I interpret the dream as either I'm really anxious to get outta here & don't care what makes it on to the Uhaul/Penske, or I need to make sure I'm really organized when it's time to roll. Maybe a little bit of both.

So I cleaned my palace yesterday. And I just need to vacuum my bedroom. Which I'll do before leaving for Austin this morning. Or maybe upon my return so as not to disturb my neighbors.

Fall renewal tips:
6 - At least twice a week, take time for yourself. Light candles scented with the relaxing essence of lavender or vanilla. Enjoy a pampering bath with essential oils. Play a CD that will lift your spirits.

4 - Listen to motivational tapes (*remember, this is from 1998...so use your Ipod*) during your commute, while raking leaves, or doing household chores. A great one is Acts of Faith by Iyanla Vanzant.

9 - Take a water bottle with you everywhere. You need to drink at least 64 ounces daily to flush out toxins and keep your body hydrated.

Enjoy the day Delights! My goals are to not overeat at brunch & to fully enjoy my NM buddies while doing so. Cheers!
