S.O.S.!!!

Good Morning Delights! Who wants to come on over to JoyJuh and help me get my place and myself together? I'm getting nowhere and slowly. I think all that will turn around once I get some eggs and toast and steak under my gut. At least I've conditioned & twisted my fro this morning after 11 great hours of sofa sleep. Concur? I knew yall would. I just need more storage space. I love when designers/architects try to be modern & hip but forget that us humans come with stuff. Lots of stuff! No need complaining about what I cannot immediately fix, but thank yall for listening.

I'm up and in motion. My sneakers have been on for nearly 4 hours. Let's put these suckas to work. Wishin' yall a grand weekend. Thank freakin' Buddha for Pandora!

Cheers!

Dinnuh!

Good Evening Gals! Today marks my first full week in Augusta & it's been a tiring one. Not too exhausting but I just haven't gotten the rest that I need. I vow to change that by the end of this weekend. I have to get organized & finish putting everything away so that my real life. Tonight, I rewarded myself & celebrated my anniversary by enjoying a steak dinner and having a beer.

Pretty darn tasty! My apologies to you vegetarians, but this was some darn good meat! And I have a lot of it left over for a steak and egg breakfast. I'm excited. I'm more excited that tomorrow is Friday & the work week is over. I will have some vino for each of ya.

Objectives for Tomorrow & the Weekend:
%  Register @ the VA & schedule a physical. I think I have Lupus.  :\
%  Enroll in dental & vision benefits
%  Finish putting my apartment together
%  At the minimum, walk a couple of miles and REALLY do some ab and arm work
%  Do a little bit of Augusta sight/site-seeing

Cheers Delights!

Pooped! Almost...

Good Morning Delights! I am now re-remembering that I am a morning person & am not much use late afternoons or evenings. Hence, why I missed a day of blogging, did no cardio/abs/arms, & my apartment is ALMOST together. Plus, the cooler temps aide in the hostage situation happening to me in the sheets. Seriously, I lay in them for nearly a full hour after the first alarm rings and dings. Next week will be better. Hell, I bet tomorrow will be better as I get to wear jeans to work. Whoo to the hoo! By the by, Wednesday's are Soul Food Day on post. OMFrickinEasterBunny! The food was sooooo good. I've got to get back in to a regular fitness routine before it's routine for me not to fit anything. So here are the top 5 wonderful greats about living in the souf:

+  Soul food in abundance
+  Friendliest folks ever
+  Easy to get around
+  Seriously, the food is SUPERB
+  That I can enjoy all the odd stares because I'm from New Mexico & no one
can place my accent.  :)

Wishing you all a productive day! Cheers!

Progress... Perhaps!

Good Evening Delights! I swear I'm making progress around my place, although you wouldn't be able to tell if you walked in here. I finally have all clothes unpacked and hanging. Tonight was productive. Not having cable and/or few local channels really helps keep me focused on getting the madness under control. Anyhoo, the 2 miles I walked at lunch left me feeling/smelling a little foul. I wonder how many people I offended once I returned to the office. :)  Tomorrow's supposed to be a little cooler, but I'm determined to get in some cardio, abs, and arms. I'll also hang some photos. Oh, and file the claim for my missing seat cushions. Crazy movers! Day 2 on the gig was decent and relatively uneventful. But, the HR folks figured out my pay & I got a slight raise. Whoo hooo! And was also informed my 1st conference/training will be in Orlando next February. Apparently, there's a lot of out of town training I've gotta do. Ole!

I'm outta here. The goal is to be in the sheets by 10p. Wish me luck!

Day 1

Good Evening Delights! Day one at the new gig was pretty great. I didn't do much after the HR piece of in-processing (which I'm now realizing was quarter-assed!), but did hang with my supervisor & sponsor for a bit. Both of whom are HILARIOUS! My supervisor happened to be eating lunch when I was led in to her office. And she gets real relaxed apparently. Her pants may have been unbuttoned & she had her shirt rolled up, which exposed her belly. "Girrrrl! Why didn't you tell me I still had my shirt up?!?! I'm just showing you my skin!" I was rollin'. Anyhoo, I think I've found a new and better work family & can exhale a sigh of relief. Much like Angela Basset in "Waiting to Exhale."

I think this might work out. Yall save this blog to throw back in my face should I make everything go wrong over here! :)  I've decided to go full on with decorating my place. It's looking pretty good. Although, I definitely need to do some cleaning up. Yowzuh to this little place. It'll be cozy. Oh oh oh... WHO the hell decided NOT to put a trash dumpster in my area?!?! It's truly a trek to get over there. I'll be doing it at some point in the near future. Like in ... oh... 10 minutes.  I still haven't started my daily walking, but tomorrow is the day!

Magic, YOU.ARE.SEXY!
TAPS, way to rock that race! Cheers!

Divas, thanks for all your kind words. Own the Day!

Feeling Like Donna Summer... A little

Good Evening Delights! Today was a relatively productive day. That's if you count going to Waffle House, getting lost trying to find Walmart, re-arranging furniture, watching football, watching golf, going back to Walmart, eating Caribbean Soul Food, strolling downtown Augusta after the x-mas parade, taking photos of the Santa-hat-wearing James Brown statue, drinking super sweet tea, attempting to hook up the washer for the umpteenth time, watching more t.v., back to Walmart, and finally hooking up the washer correctly. And my brother was with me up until the last WalletMart trip & hooking up the washer. We had a good day & I think I'll enjoy having him a couple hours away. I am filthy but feel the need to wash at least one load of clothes as I wash & deep condition my `fro. I've neglected my hair for days and it shows! I look like a mad woman over here. I've got to get it together.

Hope the weekend has been kind to each of you. TAPS, we know you'll rock the race tomorrow. Run baby run! My objectives for tomorrow are to stroll my neighborhood & do a WHOLE LOT of laundry. Oh, and take a drive out to my new job so I know exactly where to go on Monday. Ole!

Cheers!

New Digs, new outlook

Good Morning Delights! First, I want to say thank ya thank ya thank ya to each of you for your support on my x-country trek. It was wonderful to check in & read your comments from the road. Second, third, fourth, and forever... MS. AWESOME IS SUPER AWESOME! Your text messages was just what I needed. My new space is a whole lot smaller than my last place & I have MUCH nosier neighbors, but I will be fine for 6 months. Still teetering on whether or not to decorate because I know I'm blowing this joint in half a year. Thoughts? I guess we'll see how the un-loading goes & what that leaves me to work with. Sunday will be greeted with fitness. I'll walk my hood & check out the happenings. I figure I should be able to do a couple of miles every day - weather permitting. This whole working during the day & actually commuting is gonna be an entertaining transition. Wish me luck & a great NPR station. I'm checking out the body and movements of the locals. Most folks are about as big as Texans, have more muscle (hidden by a protective layer of fat...kinda like mine!), but move a lot slower. And I have a feeling this will become my breakfast place of convenience as they are on EVERY corner:

Maybe it won't be so bad if I walk to and fro?!?! Anyhoo, I'm tired but have some straightening up to do. And Sinn needs a good vacuuming like nobody's business. Also, if any of you know how to get me a relatively cheap airline ticket to DC for next weekend, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Loveyall & thanks again for the continuous support. Wouldn't be here without each of ya!
