Maurice sends his love...

Good Morning Delights! Maurice is here & brings jolly great spirits. He also sends his love to each of you by way of cookie dough, pasta, wine, and whatever else delicious to you! I should've known I was PMS'ing last week when I was just downright un-pleasant to some of my guys here at work. Phew...glad that's over for at least 23 more days.  :-)  Yesterday was decent, although I back out of fitness activity to be at the mediation hearing. My co-worker was very appreciative that I was around & rewarded me with food, of course! I also picked up "Bossypants" & will begin reading it in 5...4...3...2... uhm... maybe 15 minutes. I'm excited! My sleep was better & I think my body will adjust back to norm by the weekend. I am so looking forward to that. My pillow wants to talk to me, but forgets some times. Oh...I got a slight pay raise! YESSSS!

Today's Objectives:
♣  Walk & arm work
♣  Try a different place for my sister's cake
♣  Sleep the entire 8 hours in my bed instead of the sofa
♣  Watch a movie
♣  Drink lots of water
♣  Apply for at least one job

Pillow Talk

Good Morning Divas! I want my pillow to talk to me for longer periods of time. I was able to fall asleep fine, but once I got up to use the restroom, I was unable to fall back asleep for a couple of hours. Come on PILLOW... sing me a lullaby! Yesterday I did well with walking, ab work, and not really complaining. I also dusted and vacuumed my place. Ever just looked around your living space & discovered you ain't livin' quite right? That was my realization yesterday. I was tired but cleaned anyway. Even did the dishes AND made lunch. That's the energy of graveyard shift! :)  I also scheduled a job interview to be a job coach for homeless veterans. After thinking about it for a while, I'm going to opt out. The place is similar to where I currently work & my guys are already in and out of there. Just rotating through various Vet programs but not really accomplishing much. And I really want to focus on getting back in to the world of academia. Why waste my time doing something that I'm not passionate about? Something good will happen. Just like I'm sure Nichole will find a decent & reasonable place to live with the kindest land lord. And Ms. Awesome will enjoy the serenity of NM right up until an incredible NY opportunity falls in her lap. And every one of us will lose 3, 5, 10, and/or 13 pounds by December 23rd. That's right! My head is about to explode just thinking of all the goodness. Okay...maybe it's going to explode due to lack of sleep, but I'd rather focus on the greatness.

Today's Objectives:
♣  Begin "Bossypants"
♣  Support my co-worker at her mediation hearing
♣  DIET!
♣  Prevent head explosion
♣  Remain grateful!

Normalness Restored

Good Morning Divas! I'm back on graveyard shift & am already in happier spirits. I'm sleepy as all get out, but it'll get better. Yesterday, I accomplished just about everything on my To-Do list with the exception of ordering my sister's cake. I decided to gab it out with my gal pal for a couple of hours instead. Oh, and I had coffee, but water the rest of the day. I also had quite a bit of time for reflection on how good my life & situation truly is. I think I mentioned that I am reading "The Kid" by Sapphire (the woman who wrote the book of which the movie "Precious" was based) & it's so disturbing. A lot of horrendous acts are committed against children on a regular basis & I am so very thankful and fortunate to have had a wonderful childhood. Wouldn't do it differently if I had the opportunity. The book is helping me realize (or re-realize) that I complain far too much & that I really don't have any reason to. I'll continue to work on complaining less & being a lot more cheerful and appreciative. With that said, I appreciate the dickens out of each of you for reading my madness for the past 9 months. Your always solid, sound feedback is priceless.  Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Today's Objectives:
♣  Walk & abs
♣  Diet well
♣  Prepare lunch for the remainder of the week
♣  Complain 0 times (that may be a tough one, but I'll give it a whirl)
♣  REALLY order my sister's cake

Enjoy the Day!

Continuuum of Ramblings

Today was not so productive and I ate a bunch of crap. Tasty, tasty, sweet, salty, heavy delicious crap. The gals and I celebrated September birthdays by eating poorly and getting pedicures and just gabbing away about random lady thangs. I did however, clean my bathroom, wash 2 loads of laundry, clean out the contacts in my phone & email, watch football, and get my hair twisted. So, I am retracting the statement about not being productive. I guess there was a smidge of getting stuff done meshed in between today's poor eating. I start night shift again tomorrow & hope that my sanity and fitness schedule is restored. Wish me luck.

Objectives for Tomorrow:
#  Order my sister's birthday cake
#  Clean out my car
#  Walk, abs, arms (my body is missing out)
#  Hydrate with water only
#  Try NOT to spend unnecessarily. I blew through $ this weekend like I belong to the Gates'.  :\

#  DIET well as it will be a rough 1st night back to the graveyard shift.

Have a wonderful Monday Divas!

Greyhounds & Other Ramblings

Good Evening Delights! I just returned from watching the Hounds get beat up...badly! Poor Hounds. I went to the game with some friends that I met while in Pville. They were faculty @ ENMU for a spell. Anyhoo, they have an adopted son (I love when folks adopt any kids, but particularly American kids) who is bad as all get out. Yes, I'm aware that some folks say that kids are not bad but have bad behavior or may have bad parents. That neither here nor there, I don't think it's okay for kids to hit their parents or anyone else. I'm finding that couples who adopt later in life (late 40's) are too concerned about the child adjusting well instead of instituting structure. The kids are running the parents & the behavior by all involved parties is ridiculous. I'd love to hear all of your opinions on this.

I'll be thinking about all of you - particularly the east coaster's - tomorrow. Thanks for acknowledging the specialness of that day. TAPS, I remember thinking the same thing: How the hell did someone accidentally fly a plane in to the Twin Towers?!?!  I was at ABQ International about to begin vacation after finishing my year-long Army training. Sad, surreal day. Hope you all have a peaceful anniversary.

Personal goals are all off track but I hope to get back on all of my wagons soon. Walking with my partner starts again on Monday or Tuesday. And I'm still battling with spending too much money. However, I think a 2nd job is in my future. Ole!  All will get better if I make it so.

Enjoy the remainder of the weekend. Wishing you all a ton of serenity.

All Askew

Good Morning Delights! Not sure how I missed 2 days of blogging. Wait, maybe I do know... I'm blaming the day shift. Finito! Nothing exciting has happened except for me being completely wiped out. I'm so freakin' sleepy it's ridiculous. I vow to rejuvinate this weekend & have a little bit of fun, too. I'm going to see ENMU's football team play tomorrow. Ole! * I wonder how much the folks in the JG Wentworth commercials make for yelling out, "IT'S MY MONEY AND I NEED IT NOW!"? * I've been walking, but not as frequently or far as my normal stroll. But, I begin night shift again on Monday night & my healthy traits should return. Meanwhile....bring on the cookie dough. :)

Goals for the day:
+  Walk during lunch hour
+  Find a cake maker for my sister's party
+  Take a nap before work
+  Be THRILLED it's my last evening shift!

Rock your weekend Divas! Magic, pass the tomatoes! :)

Simply Stating

Hello Delights! Today was monstrous at work. I was reminded (once again) that working with addicts really burns me out. I'm crossing my toes, fingers, and eyes that I land a gig in the education field SOON! I walked tonight & ate modestly today. I will, however, have a square of cookie dough before I go to sleep. I need it. I deserve it. And by-damnit, I'm eating it.

Ms. Awesome, I am ultra thrilled at your progress. I wish I could fly up and help you pack your wares. Although, I'm not sure how helpful I would be as I would just gab and eat snacks. :)  TAPS, so good to see you back. Crew: Hope you're all doing well.

Tomorrow's Objectives:
=  Walk
=  Scream my lungs out @ the Sade/Legend concert
=  Make it home from concert safely

Goodnight Delights!
