... but not really. Hello Delights! I'm not quite sure why my cousin has to tell little lies. You know, if there is such a thing. I consider them little because she just sorta steals your words and makes them part of her story and/or situation. Here's an example from tonight. We were discussing the autopsy report on Whitney Houston.
Me: I like how folks are surprised that drugs were found in her system. Do they think she just took a bath sober, went to sleep, and wasn't able to jolt herself awake as she was slipping in the tub?!?!
Her: I know! That's what I told the folks at work today. I said, "Do yall just think she was sober and fell asleep in the tub? You know she had something in her system."
Now, that all doesn't sound like a big deal, right? It wouldn't be if she didn't do that during EVERY conversation we have. I could say I did/said/want anything, and she'll work it in to her own [made up] situation. Quite bizarre. Plus, I know she didn't have that conversation about Whitney with her work folks today because she spent most of the day at the hospital checking on her boss' boyfriend. Anyhoo, I still consider these instances little lies and am not quite sure if they fall in to the One-Upping category. The little lies don't bother me, but I just don't understand why she does it. Bleh! I ate a tiny bag of Cheetos for dinner. Why is the Lumberjack still here?
